Hi. Just wondering about who here plays drums? Just want to discuss drumming. I have now 2 drum kits, and I just love to play around with them
Alright, I do drum every once in a while. And yes, I'm talking about real drum sets here, no such things as keyboards -- although I do sometimes also smash these cute little machines.
Oh My God!
yeah I am a huge drummer, I played in my highschool's variety show when I was in first grade, and I have a regular, and an electric kit
I am pretty good since I have been playing since I was like four
and I know such things as jaz, basanova (brezilian jaz thing), mombo (latin beat both three two and two three clavays), shuffle beats, and brushes
plus the normal hand exercises and just playing regular old rock music, I have been doing that forever
Also I am going to do this thing in my eighth grade variety show with this girl on vocals, I on the drums, her dad on guitar, and her uncle on base
its being taped and put on youtube, would any of you care for me to post the link here so you guys can all listen to it after I preform?
Okay, Let me tell about my kits. I just have a normal roland 6kw kit with 3 cymbals, 3 toms and a snare and a bass drum with dobble pedlas. My acoustic kit is a good one: A yamaha stage custom, a dobble bass drum, a snare, 3 normal toms, a paiste hihat, a paiste crash and splash, also a ziljan crash and splash, and a weird paiste 20" ride. 2 Wuhan chinas, 1 12" and 1 16"+a home made cup. I play all genres, jazz, reggae, latin styles, metal and rock
Yeah, two bassdrums are very handy for that neat metal sort of music, but also for some standard rock.
yeah I have a double base peddle as well, plus a snair, high-hat, three toms, another smaller snair, and two symbols
okay I don't know if I should post the video because you guys didn't really answer my question, but I just want to say that I just did the show and the video should be up shortly
Yo. Now I have got a reindeer bell and a new stagg st 8" splash
okay look guys I'm not trying to be mean, but like when I ask a question could you have the common curtisy to at least answer back with a positive or negative response?
(thanks andy)
I will post the video but do you want the kind of no so good recording that is out now, or do you want to wait for the better taping?
I would like to hear that video, although it isn't a good taping. You seem to be a skilled drummer and those are always nice to listen to.
okay well guys this is what I'm going to do
the follow link is for the youtube video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPya3F16G1k and heres the link for the singer of the group (no name yet for us) singing the national anthome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyqMBWbHwug
hah, sounds good andy
(I am now learning an beat called "afro-cuban6-8" or something close to that
plus I learned another fill-in for the mombo in two-three clavays, and other exercises related to the mombo mostly
Hi cj. How old are you? I dont wanna be rude cj but wel it could be better. May be I think that its bad because I have some professional drummers as friends and stuff, so I have learned really much this year. Lol. But dont give up cj. I wasnt that good as you are now 1 year ago.
well, first off, thanks I guess.
Plus like that was that groups first prefermence, the sound quality was bad, that's not all I know, and not all the drums were in the most convenient place to make room for the double base, I guess it was a costly sacrifice that probably won't be made again
but of course they may not be good reasons in your mind, and I could understand where you are coming from, that song wasn't that great, I completely agree
Just giving both sides.
So thanks.
hey guys, I am going to be retaping that song on the count of the bad quality of the recording, so I will keep you posted on that
