Well Hal 7 does have support for firefox if I decide to try it, but at the moment I'm horrendously! busy with other things, and trying firefox isn't high on my priorities list I'm afraid.

Yes, I know some occations when I am on wml (windows live messenger), and because : ) produces a smile in msn as well as here, and if I have another window (like a removable disk) jaws cant unload the dictionary rules so it says
removable disk (f smiley) and its really funny, or like it says im is imidiate message or whatever...

2007-10-05 04:39:18

Oh just imagine the fun I have chatting on MSN about muds, especially on my PM where it insists on turning IM into I'm. IM as in immortal that is. Just as bad when you're trying to talk about IM software in the IM software too. That is one of the few things that bugs me about the PM, along with how when you manually try to type an apostrophe it always ends up as a graave.

this reminds me of a conversation I had with a spanish friend of mine who was trying to tell me her e-mail address. the problem was, after her first name, was what she described as ------ one of those litle line things"

I asked her did she mean a dash, a dot, or an underline. she thought it could be an underline, or could be a dash, but wasn't sure.

Eventually we solved the problem by "It's what happens when you press shift and that key next to zero" Lol!

an underline it was indeed.

lol
That's funny dark, and cx2.

I didnt know u had msn whats your address, I could add you if you're interested.

2007-10-06 02:01:40

Don't take this the wrong way Andy but I'm very, very picky about who I add to MSN these days. Also I can only use it through my Pac Mate, so I only rarely have it on.

Well, you could use windows live messneger...

2007-10-06 04:38:25

Doesn't work with JFW 4.51.

The other part of the explanation is I only really talk much on the internet with one especially close friend, and their computer is fried at the minute. I never really got into messengers, other than for this one person.

Ah.
Well cx2, doesnt it support msn messenger, it's in the start menu?
If not then yeh u could always use
eBuddy
and try that on your desktop. It's what I use when I am on my BrailleNote. Works fantastically if i do say so.

2007-10-06 17:17:29

Jaws 4.51 supports MSN, but an old version which is no longer able to connect due to it being behind in security updates. I'm not really inclined to go messing about given how little I've ever used MSN.

Yeh true, I still wonder about that old thing... I used to use it but not anymore.

2007-10-06 23:44:03

hi cx2 and dark,

Ok, I remember trying awakened worlds. I remember you trying to help me. But man, I just can't get it, although I didn't really play it all that much. I wish someone could skype me and we could  talk about it, person to person. Imho, it would be easier,.

Anyone wanting to talk about awakened worlds or some such, email me through this website so it goes into my adiogames folder, or make sure you have audiogames put in the subject line so it gets dumped in there.

thanks

Aoubt the windows live, you can juse use windows messinger. I'm using it now, because I was forced to update, and even with jfw 8 I can't use my alt keys plus number to read messages, for example alt+1. Btw, windows messinger stil works with jaws 4.5, I think.

No, it doesn't. 4.5 was the first version to support XP properly, and was before windows messenger I believe.

I dunno, but I have a 5.0 of jfw as well which I took. and put it away for storrage...

2007-10-07 17:19:42

Oh and TimberWolf:
I wouldn't worry about Awakened worlds any more while I remember. There are several reasons -
Cut in cash pay for runs means you have to grind the same jobs over and over.
Reduction in payouts from hacking the matrix means there isn't much profit there, and no real reason to build your own cyberdecks.
Change to only allowing vehicle workshops to be set up in garages (which are hard to get because they're all rented) means if a drone gets wrecked you've just lost 25k, and upgrading your own vehicles is near impossible thus playing riggers (drone and vehicle specialists) is out.
Economy drop means use of expensive special ammo is harder, and it is better overall not to use guns if possible relying instead on hand to hand or spells if able to cast.

Also the pay cut means it is even more important than it was to make sure your character is as tweaked out as possible, which is something that I'm not comfortable with and also requires at least moderate knowledge of cyber and bio implants.

Oh yes, and the community has really hit rock bottom. Along with all the stupid changes the admin keeps making, some of which are so stupid even he has to reverse them like not being able to reload a two handed gun because your hands are full.

Just don't worry about it.

Ok, so what muds are popular now adays, which are similar to that (being able to work/or drive on vehicles, for example)?

That might be a problem, I haven't really found anythingelse like it... however as I said since the changes you can't really use vehicles as anything more than transport or mobile gear storage, getting them damaged more than very mildly is a very bad idea if you can't set up a workshop and this also prevents upgrades. He should at least have made more garages available to rent, since they were always popular even before they actually had any in game effect to the point where I never ever have seen one available to rent.
