Greetings,
Due to several problems I have had in the passed few months or

so, I have decided to discontinue TONK. It has been erased in a hard-drive

accident that happened in that time period, and my internet was killed

also... I know this sounds fucked up, but give me a break. Wasn't my

fault...
However, the mud (based off of 'MOO' codebase that might have

been discussed) was saved, and I plan on opening it up as soon as I can.

Also, OrioGames is opening back up. I'm excited about the releases that we

plan to program (the game engine that we're going to use will be released

to the public, and its deffinintly worth it)...

As for the games, I'm

really sorry about the delayed release dates and all that shit. Just let it

be known that I will be returning soon, and plan to make some

games!

Regards,
Kyle Frownfelter

Ah

well. Tonk wasn't really my kind of game anyway. But, An accessible game

creating engine? Wow cool!

tonk

dead? well, i looked forward to it, but if it's gone it's gone.that game

engine sounds good though.

i wouldn't mind something like that so i can

make my own games.will it have a side scroller option?
thx

to

kyle:
good. it's good youa re continuing. i just cannot believe these

guys: complaining like hell. they are still doing it. however i've come on

here today and so far found none. but montezuma's revenge and all that.

but, don't let that put you off! proove everyone wrong and show them that

you *can* make games! i know you can! i can feel it. i am 100% sure you will

succeed.
to all: this time, do! not! complain! i a mgetting sick of it. in

a way you sort of stopped tonk from being developed as well. however, if the

game engine has a sample tutorial, that you can both run in the engine (a

.gm file?) and in notepad, that'd be good. i hope you willbeable to do

that, with comments in the file, and when ya either double click or press

enter in windows explorer on a .gm file (like my suggestion for the

extention? i know it's weerd but...), it runs the game in the engine. so,

guys, i look forward to it all and by the sounds of it a lot of you do as

well!
mixed regards (again)

The

game engine isn't an engine itself, but compiles its own code into visual

basic code which can be compiled pretty easily (sorry guys, but its vb6

we're talking about, never was a fan of .net)...

It supports both 2d and

3d games. The map arrays that it generates are determined in dimensions and

size by parameters given in the sources...

Here is a sample of a room

(there are two different types of room setups you can do, either give exact

coordinates for shit or just list room options like this:
<room

a1
x30
y30

amb ship.wav
boundary 25 25, a2

>

This basically

defines a room that is 30x30... The boundary to the next room is one

coordinate to the right of 25 25 in that room (so, strictly speaking, at 26

25 you'd be in the next room). All non-boundary coordinates are walled at

all 0 coordinates... May customize this too.

Kyle

Welcome back Kyle! Hope you'll do us a lot of good! I said hope,

understatement...

I know you will! Rock on!

p.s. Can I send that

little clip of Totnk to people? Some've been asking for it...

Sounds pretty neat. I myself am heading back to school in the summer and

I'm going to take as many computer classes as I can. Maybe then this

stuff'll actually make sense?

But wait, what's that? A transport! Saved am I! Hark, over here! Hey nonny non, please help!

2006-01-23 04:22:20

Sure,

give it to whoever the hell wants to hear it... Its a lost project anyway,

so maybe this'll give 'em a peak at what's to come.

2006-01-23 04:40:53

Yep, I know there'll be awesome things to come...

Oh by the way

Kyle... I have a question. You know, you told me once you ripped sounds from

certain ps 2 games like MKd. What program did you use? Please let me know...

I'm trying to rip sounds as well...

but

kyle...
what if ya dont have vb? that's the only way you can compile it,

as far as i know. why can't the engine just make an exe file out of the

game, or even an installer? i mean... i dont know how to make installers!

2006-01-23 23:28:06

Its

not that hard to get vb, just hack it...
I may make the engine an

interpreter, but that would take lots of work and games could be easily

hacked/what not... Which we don't want, right?

As for getting the

sounds, I used that one program James was talking about (can't think of the

name right off hand).

Installers  are easy. A basic installation can be made with the InnoSetup

Ah. I see...

Question though. Do you have to make settings before

you can rip them? Or do you have to just scan the directory...? let me

know.

Scan

the directory. Scanning CDs don't do shit.

Glad to see you back, Kyle.

If you want, later on when you're done with the engine, I can translate it into Hungarian and Spanish. Si, yo estudio Espanyol en me collegio. Es muy bien idioma.

Ok, my Spanish skills aren't the best. But just in case.
