Hi.

I have always had some issues when choosing the "new posts" link when I wanna read all the new posts in the off-topic room. The reason for I haven't posted about this issue before is because I didn't know how to explain what happens, but I'll try to explain it  as good as possible:
When I've been away from the room for a while which means one week or more, the new posts link doesn't give me all the new posts since my last visit like all other rooms. An other issue is as follows: When clicking the new posts link on a topic in the room, it shows me the last page with posts. Here is an example: A week ago, I read the topic about Swamp fans. Today I clicked the new posts on this topic, and I came to the last page. there has been added 3 or 4 pages in this topic since my last visit in this room, so if I didn't go back a few pages, I would have missed the pages.
Am I the only one who have this issue? It happens all the time I visit the off-topic room, and it has never happened in the other rooms.

I don't think that's actually a problem with the offtopic room itself, but rather your board display settings. The problem I believe is that the new posts or topics link only displays the first page of new stuff, and if there has been more than a pages' worth you'll miss it.

The good news however is that this is to an extent fixable. Sighted users can't handle too much text at once in one place since it causes confusion, which is why the board limits the number of topics and posts per page, ---- the default I believe is about 20.

if however you go to your profile link at the top of the page, then to settings, there are two edit areas where you can change the number of topics and posts displayed on each page. The maximum of either you can have is 75, ----- a shame it can't be more, but there you go.

Do this, and then as long as there are less than 75 new topics or posts you should find things work okay, though if there are more than 75 you'll have the same problem unfortunately.

Thank you very much. I'll try that and see how it goes. I think you're right regarding the new posts link only shows the first page of new posts, and simply skip the other pages. The reason for I never have experienced that in the other rooms is of course because I check these rooms each day! smile
