One of the questions that may cross peoples minds is a way to buy or otherwise acquire ready made Open Source hardware, as otherwise such projects are usually a strictly DIY affair. Well, digging through a few places I came across the [Neil Squire Foundation], a Canadian group that runs various charitable programs for helping those with disabilities. One of these programs is [Makers Making Change] which, you guessed it, involves local volunteer makers who can try to fulfill requests to build accessible or open source technology, at cost, upon request.

Now, this is interesting because i've mentioned [this] little open source braille display that costs 104.14€ in materials. Now, some of the patent elements may be for educational purposes only, i'm not a lawyer, and the project would need to be submitted for review, but it could be a potential opportunity for those with an interest...
