I believe it's because Karen works in Orlando with the team and really spearheaded the enire accessibility movement at EA. Again. I could be wrong, but that is the most likely reason.

A bit disappointing that devs reach out and because of a select few assholes that think people owe them everything, devs get turned away from here.
I'm not even a big madden guy like that. I don't really play newer games mostly. But shit like this is why I don't like to associate with communities that revolve around my disability that much, and if I do, I don't wear it on my sleeve and definitely don't wear it as some badge of honor.
Every group of people that become reasonably close with each other revolving around a common thing has its snobs and general entitled dicks. But speaking for myself and other blind people I feel a bit more disappointment here, maybe its because I am active on the forum? I don't know. What I do know is nobody owes us a damn thing, they're called video games for a reason. We're a minority group. And unfortunately, we are not the archetype of normal, and with that, 99.9% of the world is not designed for us and that's just how it is. I know some people don't like that but if you're gonna go through life saying "How dare you! You ignorant, selfish, horrible piece of shit!" to people just because they don't know everything on how you as a blind person operate or how they can help you, you'll just become another "blindy" stereotype. And that's nobody else's problem but yours.
Me? I don't care about being blind anymore. Whatever. I just want my hearing back.

I fully agree with you. I know one blind person, whose name I will not mention, who basically told me, that if I didn't want to get sued, that I would   have to caption my Madden videos.   While I am a full proponent of universal access,  I sat in shock for about 15 minutes, processing that information.  This isn't the only time I've seen developers never associate with the blind community however. While this wasn't a game of any kind, I'm sure people remember Flexy.  Blind people got really bent out of shap, when we were given a specific ap that worked with Voiceover, and it wasn't a permanent solution.  This backlash didn't come from people on this forum, but came from people Like John Mossan, and other big names in our community. The end result? Flexy dropped all of it's  ties tot he blind community. When I wrote to them later on expressing my wish that the product would remain accessible, what I was told was, "Accessibility is no longer our priority." That is what happens when blind people really make developers angry.

I don't associate with really any blind communities like NFB or ACB because they're all the same, as far as my experience has taught me. I don't really have many blind friends because of exactly what you all guys are saying. Too many negative Nancy types in the blind community. When my grandmother told my mother I should be learning with blind people to be in a blind world, her response was that "he lives in a sighted world and should be with sighted people." My mom and I don't agree on everything, but I at least have to respect her for that.

Unfortunately a blind world does exist, but it is completely divorced from reality.

As for the original topic, it occurs to me, I hope maybe the draft section is made accessible too, but, as stated, it's wait and see time. I'll definitely check out the deep dive. A little off the topic, didn't somebody post something about MLB The SHow having menu narration? That'd be neat, especially if they port The Show to Xbox 1, which they might do just for '21 since the transition to the next generation is happening late-ish this year.

The following is what I heard from Karren on twitter. This is regarding the accessibility features and the Madden codes.
I know many have asked about Madden NFL 21 accessibility. I'm not yet cleared to say anything yet, but I do see you.

Last year's Madden codes came from a stack of EA Play cards - there was no event this year, so there are no code cards either; sorry I have nothing to give out.

This is a great answer - even if the answer is, "Sorry, we don't have anything to give, but we do recognize and acknowledge you." It at least gives us a sense of the current state of accessibility, not to mention establishes that the company is taking the time to make such a statement.

I agree. We're not forgotten,  and you all have no idea how happy that makes me.

Oh, I have a pretty good idea, since I'm in the same boat. This Madden stuff is the most amazing chance we as blind gamers have had in quite awhile, and I mean that sincerely. Like Liam said, the forum is forgotten, and with good reason, but God bless Karen Stevens for still hanging in there! Wow!
