That's right Planet life, has received an upgrade which apparently includes a final ending and lets you see what has become of your poor friend burger the robot.

#Meet Bret the friendly Jerk, and higher dodgy garden gnomes to sneak down dungeons, whilst you carry on a romance wity beanie the been planet!

Yes, it is as surreal and weird as ever! but that's why we love it.
Access wise, no issues at all, though I would recommend people on Chrome turn off the feature to have google give you image descriptions, since they tend to get in the way here.

I'll also say, the final part seems surprisingly tough, or at least at the moment I'm not entirely sure to progress, and am trying to get enough resources to try different things out, but hay, that's why we love planet life.
I'm also interested to know whether some previous parts of the game got any fixes, and perhaps when I've finished the game I'll try the thing again, but as it is I'm just excited to continue the story.

you can Play the game here on the developer's own site or Find the page here on Itch.io, if you want to support the game.

There is a version for Ios too in the ap store, though whether this new content is paid or not I am not sure.

I dont have any updates for appstore yet, but yes this game is amazing.
I dont like clickers, but this title is addicting.
In the ios version you need to pay for Broccoli planet, but it sint expensive.

Yeah, there's no update on appstore or android.

Wow its audio sounds like megadrive.

2020-03-05 18:21:38

yay cool.
btw Dark , you may need to fix Planet Life in the database, the url points to Evelyn's farm's entry instead of planetlife.space

2020-03-06 07:17:30

Ah, I must've made a mistake when fixing the db entry, since I was writing the Evelyn's farm one at the same time.
all fixed now.

Btw, just a bit of advice, the Itch.io version is apparently broken. i got to a point where further progress was utterly impossible, so the developer recommends playing the version on
His own site found here.

This will mean restarting my game, but I was considering trying that anyway.

Does that mean that the download version is broken or just the one run directly off the site?

2020-03-06 09:11:02 (edited by Dark 2020-03-06 12:40:27)

I'm afraid I am not sure on that one.
You could ask on Itch.io, as the developers are very good about responding to comments there.

Edit: Okay, the developer confirmed that yes, the downloadable version will be okay, since apparently the problem is to do with the way the itch.io site holds saves, so anyone who like me played the first two chapters on Itch.io should probably go to northplay's own site.

Okay, just to tell people, I finished chapter 2 again, and even completed the final super dungeon (because I am a really sad completioniist).

I'm now well into chapter 3, and yee gods it's bloody awesome!

There are so many things to do, including an amazing battle system which even makes healing interesting, a new take on dungeons and a really nasty bad guy to battle, plus appearances by some old friends.

The third chapter indeed goes full on rpg, with a bit of ccg style gameplay thrown in along side the resource management mechanics, and judging by some stats I've seen, it's probably going to be a longer play through than the first two combined, I might even have to completely upgrade the db entry as well!

I have to get this now.  completed chapter one, but didn't buy the rest as I didn't have the funds back then.  going to download the app again and see what I'm missing out on.
Battles were pretty dull in chapter one admittedly, so happy to see this is fixed.

@Dan C, I don't know if chapter 3 has made it to the ios and android ap store update yet. Battles in chapters 1 and 2 are pretty much a one click affair, there it is more about getting resources for the various upgrades and also choosing which battles you fight, and you don't really need to complete all of the endless dungeons unless your like me and just want to do everything big_smile.

Chapter 3 is a different story, and has a hole bunch of different minigames and a completely revamped battle system which even features bosses, and while there is a dungeon, it works slightly differently to previous games.

Okay I have finished all the main content in chapter 3, since like chapter 2 there is an optional final challenge, albeit a far less grindy one since the battles are so much fun.
The ending is quite hilarious, albeit I've not taken the final plunge yet which I imagine will restart the game, but it's really lovely to see your old crazy friends  from the previous two chapters, and yee gods Chapter 3 is almost a game in and of itself.

Actually chapter 3 i3 is far more about the battles and far less about the resources and dungeoning albeit you still need them, indeed my only sort of miner issue is that after the start of chapter 3 where all the game resources are really useful, towards the end gold, stardust and one other major resource become virtually useless, rather the way stardust is towards the end of the second chapter.
There is also one rather strange other dungeon challenge which I'm probably going to ask the dev about, since I'm not entirely  where it is intended to end, or indeed if it's intended to end at all.

Where the resource interplay falls down a little though, the amount of minigames and the really cool battle system more than make up for things, heck this is one where even the casino minigames are sort of fun (I rather enjoy wooden poker).

So, highly recommended, indeed I'm going to have to update the db description at least a little to at least hint where chapter 3 goes.

My gods this is vloody addicting! It's like clicker meets a bunch of different genres!

Welcome to the planet that eats your life big_smile.

Btw, the developer even added me to the hall of fame after I defeated the hardest dungeon in chapter 2, what happens with chapter 3 we'll see when I've finished all the battels, but I'm still fairly happy with the result and the rather nice little message he posted:

No problem.

Planet life's android incarnation has finally received chapter 3. The ios version should come soon I bet if it hasn't yet.

2020-11-11 21:56:27

Apollogies for bringing this old guy back up, but I thought this news was worth mentioning.

I bought chapters 2 and 3 of the android version the other day, and not a few hours later, I got a mysterious update who's message said something like the end is not the end. Turned out to be true! I got horribly addicted to the game and finished it, only to discover that there was reason to play it through again, which I am entirely ready to do. Additionally, the update brought new music and added new collectavle gear with varying perks for Derek to use on his dungeon adventures. I highly recommend this for anyone who has yet to play it. Not sure if the web version got the update but might be worth a look.

2020-11-11 22:19:38

if someone just could shed a light why I cannot click the heading on the android version sad it has anything to do with web view... any idea, please?

2020-11-11 22:46:46

Have you tried scrolling the page up or down? I noticed late game that clicking on headings didn't work for me because the page was scrolled too far one way, but making it scroll the other way solved the problem. Also, for whatever reason, playing the app from the play store gave me a smoother experience. I just went to check the web version and it's not the latest that was updated a few days ago

2020-11-12 00:34:16 (edited by Dark 2020-11-12 00:52:24)

I've asked on Itch.io, because if the game has been updated I'm more than ready to go round again!

Edit: Okay the music on the dev's own site is different. I had a cookie which saved the game just at the end of chapter 3, so took the restart timeloop option. I'm not noticing anything new other than the updated music so far, though some other comments on Itch.io mention something called "worm cubes" which I do not remember previously.
Any idea when I should run into new content if there is some? Though to be honest the game is just fun to play anyhow.

Major spoiler warning!

You get them worm thingies from deep inside dungeons, least i got 2 of them that way. The worm god will give you more. Immediately afger accepting the worm's invitation to restart, check your surface. You can also vring 1 jerk and 1 item into your next game.

End spoilers.

I wonder if the update mafe it into the ios version. I mainly want to play it through again because i didn't finish the last dungeon and fights, plus it was such a fun playthrough. In the update, you can buy random gear from the space shop, and find them from dungeons. You can equip derik from your surface, as well as check his gear while dungeoneering, and the drink potion option won't appear while at full health..
