Hi.
I'm having this annoying issue where my NVDA will read the currently selected icon over and over again.
It seems to happen at random times, but when it does it's very annoying.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks in advance.

Hmm, mine also does this, it seems like the desktop refreshes, like for instance when my WiFi connects or disconnects, my desktop would say recycle bin a few times before stopping.

Hi.

Mine does this too, the best thing is to tab once then you won't be on the desktop so NVDA won't speak, or; you could turn speech mode off.

@2... Yep that's the problem I have.
@3... I do do this, but I'm just saying it's annoying to do every time, especially if I'm not using my laptop at that current moment but just have it open

This sounds like a problem that i used to have until i got a new computer. If i use NVDA for too long, it would start not only saying the same thing its on about 5 times, but then I couldn't silence it with control and it would not instantly read the next thing, until i restarted NVDA. It was extremely annoying, especially when your computer takes about 30 seconds to load NVDA because its old and the almost 5 gigs of nvda add-ons you have in your user ocnfiguration. uhg. Even after i removed the 5 gigs of add-ons, compressed it into a zip, my config was almost 2 gigs.

Those of you who are having this issue, what version of windows are you running?  On win10 and haven't seen it so trying to figure out if it can be reproduced by some means.  Never had it on 7 either.

@8... I'm on win10 1909.
Try stay on the desktop for a couple minutes, it will start doing it eventually.

It happens to me when Dropbox is busy doing things in the background. If I have the desktop focused while the Dropbox icon in the system tray changes, NVDA reads the icon that is selected again.

I'm using Windows 10.

I still can't duplicate this; I really am sorry.  If somehow I manage it or come across anyone else who has fixed it I"ll let you all know.

I am also on Windows 10 1909 here.

I've seriously tried duplicating this on both win 10 and win 7 machines and can't do it!  I managed to get my hands on a third win10 PC, a thinkpad that I'm going to try it on next.  I'll keep you all posted.

I have another problem.
I will be using NVDA, and them my voice will randomly start reading slower. Is anyone else on 2019.3 experiencing this problem?
