Hi all,

I'm Gorilla and I recently started doing narrated playthroughs of video games.  I am on another small forum or two, and in these playthroughs I'm going to be leaving some choices along the way, so we can go through these games together.

Should be a good time either way, hope to see you go through it with me:

Thanks.

Nice! I love things like this. Are these specifically audio games? If not, do you think you could please play said Myers pirates and Star Wars Knights of the old Republic?

Hopefully, we'll get a fully accessible open world game someday.

Hey RTT,

These are actually video games that I'm playing through, and narrating with while describing the atmosphere, surroundings, characters, stuff like that.  First one was Disco Elysium, now doing Baldur's Gate.

Your commentary is nice. Your descriptions are also nice, as well as the voice acting.

Ooh, this guy is good. I've listened to ten or fifteen minutes of the first Balder's Gate video and am thoroughly enjoying it. This is a bit hardcore for me - I'm not a huge D&D fan, personally - but this style of game is straight up my alley. We need more of them in the audiogames community. Hell, maybe one day I'll get off my butt and actually make one happen somehow.
Anyway, Gorilla, keep up the good work.

Thanks very much Jason, Mecha, Vel, Moad, Jayde.  I'll be keeping a few games on rotation to hopefully keep things interesting.  I appreciate the feedback!

2020-02-09 17:49:52

this sounds freaking awesome!
can you play zelda wind waker, or zelda majora's mask?
keep up the good work!

I am a divine being. I can be called a primordial deity, but that might be pushing it, a smidge. I am the only one of my kind to have ten tails, with others having nine. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I have ascended my own race.

2020-02-09 17:57:55

This is incredible. I have only listened to a few minutes of one of the videos and I'm hooked. I can't wait to see what other games you might include in this.

2020-02-10 05:17:28

Gaki I would love to do those games, but I'm keeping the selections to PC and PS4 games, as it's easiest for me to record on those platforms.  ACC and Gaki that's great to hear that you like it.

2020-02-10 05:24:57

I wonder if you can do final fantasy. I have little knowledge of video games, so probably not, but still

Juan, I remember Manhunt!  Great game, and really appreciate your comments.
Flame, those are solid choices, and I remember Until the end of Time.  Great game. On the PS4 I have a different iteration of Star Ocean called Integrity & Faithlesness, still unplayed.
Moaddye, Final Fantasy titles are surely contenders.  The next playthrough may actually be a FF game due to the voting we had on another forum.  FF15 in particular is looking like it would work well with this format, strong option.

The poll we had is here.  I'll be doing at least one of the titles that were already voted upon.  But please feel free to vote on an existing one, or add a new one if you like:

It's basically to get ideas for the future, gauge interest, and see which ones work with the format.

I don’t know if you can do this. But I just thought I would throw in a little request, could you play SCP containment breach?
Just one quick question now if you don’t mind answering, are you cited or blind?

2020-02-11 04:11:55

Mecha,

I am personally not blind nor visually impaired.  Just looking to share my love of games with others.

Never heard of Containment Breach, just Googled it and looks intense, I’ll keep it on the radar.

2020-02-11 04:18:11

Gorilla, I loved it! Yes! Please make many more!

O P what is: audio described games? Was it a YouTube channel or something else?

2020-02-11 05:21:51

Oh Gorilla, G for short, I would love to make a offline file archive if that's OK with you. The archive would have the gameplays, and the link to your channal for people to find you! I would also list links to forrums and forms like the one you posted. Things like this have to be kept and stord!

Blindness isn't a disability, but a diffrent way of seeing things

Listened to these and love them! Thanks for doing this. I have Let's Play-ers I'm a big fan of because they read and do an OK job of summarizing what happens at times, but this is next level.

It might be tough, but Detroit: Become Human is one I'd be interested in experiencing. I'm particularly interested in how the puzzle sequences may work. I gather some of them are about traversing an environment unseen, and since you're an android, you can jump on/swing between things and know in advance that they'll hold or work, and thus program a path across a scene and then the character performs all the actions quickly. I'm not sure. But there's enough dialog that I've enjoyed just about every Let's Play I've watched, and each has been very different because the choices really do matter.
