Am I the only one who wouldn't click on a random link of a random game without any explanation? Just asking.
Edit: oh, I got why there's no explanation, because 75 percent of the game is paid. Huhhh.
Har har har. Quote:
Perilous Marathon is available for $5.99, however you can play for free if you only wish to play the first 10 levels of the game. Scoreboards are also disabled in the free version.
You know, i want to say something but i won't.
It's error time!

So seems like this game uses the same sound library that Shooter did, and I can hear some sounds from Beatstar as well. Is there like a free sound library or paid sound library that these sounds come from?
TheBlindSaiyan,
would you mind redownloading the game and see if you continue to receive this error? I see no error in the release build. I downloaded it to make sure
Hello!
Thanks for the game!
I have downloaded the game and started it. However, no menu is spoken. I suppose it should speak via Sapi by Default, however, on my System there is no voiceover, so I don't even know which menu entries I am activating and so on.
Really shouldn't be charging for a game if the sounds aren't original. Just my opinion though. I'm sure you put a lot of work into the code itself.
At post 9,
most of the sounds were pulled from sound libraries or sounds in other games I created. I don't pull sounds from games directly.
Hi.
I actually like this game but the bolders seam to have no sound to them and when I get to level to and die, I'm put back on level one again.
I think it would be nice if you keep the items you've collected through the game that way, if you have to start from level one eatch tiem, you can at least be fast.
Oh and as for boms, they don't seam to do anything? even if they hit you, you don't loos health.
Hi there,
the reason why you get hit with a boulder is because you die after the demo is over. The demo is only letting you play for two minutes because its a demo after all. The bombs do not take away health, they take away points.
I see nothing wrong with charging for extra features liek scoreboards.
The problem is when you originally give the feature away for free, and then decide to stick it behind a pay wall. Not naming names or anything, but... ya know.
Hi, the page doesn't mention anything about 2 minutes.
Here's what it says about the demo, you can play for free if you only wish to play the first 10 levels of the game.
Also, you don't need to press space to collect objects, you can just walk into them.
The reason why I charge for games is because having a websites, and a webserver to host scoreobards costs money. Lets face it guys, development costs time and resources. It may seem like no big deal but starting from complete scratch in a new programming language takes time. I recoded this game to be in python so I could open up more games for OSX. I'm not saying I should be awarded with all time award of the month, I'm just trying to cast a little lite on why I charge for games. I am sorry if you find this unfair, but we just can't have everything for free. Not trying to be rude or anything.
The page doesn't say anything about the two minutes, and if you ask me that's a bit dumb. So you can play 10 levels, but have a fun time getting to level like 3 before your damn demo ends. It would be nice if this was like tomb hunter where the first 10 levels, no time limit are free, then you have to buy. Just me though?
At post 14,
thank you for pointing these errors in both the landing page and the manual. I will correct them soon.
Yeah, Ivan, i don't think anyone's bitching about the fact that it's paid, i'm personally fine with paying for games, and I may buy this. But it would be nice if we were able to get a bit more of an feel for what the game is like, as i said in my last post, being able to play all 10 levels but then having to pay, and no time limit.
At post 16,
for this game its not a story type game so getting to level ten is like completing the game. The reason why the page says level 10 was because the page was written before balancing patches to the game were made. Back then, you would reach level 10 in about 1 minute.
Hi.
I'd recommend you fix that before others start saying what I am and don't buy your game.
I still think it's a good game and you can get past the bolder, you just need to listen out for it.
i'd reccomed at least 5 minutes of play, so we can get a proper feel of the game, before we die. or perhapse what blindfold games did, you get 10 or 15 free games and then you have to pay to get unlimited in the full ver.
Hey post 10, if you didn't rip any game sounds, why are those boulder sounds from branble? You didn't even try hiding the fact either. Just curious that's all. Every one of those. The death sound, the loop, and the destruction noise.
At post 21,
the reason why I don't do 10 free games is because someone can easily reset the game's configuration data and just keep doing that to play more games. Its sad that most of the time I have to worry about how to break the game to write code to protect against it but hey, what you gonna do
