hi guys! I've really started getting into making beats with garageband for IOS. It's simple to use, has lots of features and high quality sound, and, with the addition of my yamaha keyboard, it is almost 100% accessible!
Who else uses it?

Hi:
I have Garage Band on both my Mac and iPad. I never found the iOS version to be very intuitive, but that's just me. Plus, I've just started learning. Are there any text resources to guide you through using Garage Band? Hoping to use the software for projects if I have to in college.
I used my old iphone for garage band. But it is coming hard to me
Garage Band is very limited. It is not as functional as programs like REAPER. However, it has some fun sounds. I'm on a pc and I'm never buying a mac, but I've considdered trying to set it up on a virtual machine. Do you have any idea if that could work? Some keyboards like my old Roland FA have drivers that don't work on a vm.
for the IOS version it is pretty much essential you have a midi keyboard. also, which vm, where to get a mac os vm to try it?
Is a midi keyboard a simple keyboard? Or is it a specific one? I ask because I myself have a very good one of yamaha.
Sounds really cool. but how can I use my keyboard with this app?
so, first you need a lightning connector to a usb port. then you plug a usb to host into the usb port end of the lightning connector, the lightning end to your ipad or iphone, then the square end of the usb to host in your keyboard, turn both on, and boom.
good day all!
I've been thinking about doing a series of tutorials on garageband so that we can get more users of the app, because it truly is an awesome music-making app.
What do you think?
The thing I don't like about the iOS version is that you have to set the length of a track before you record otherwise it only records 8 bars and then starts rerecording and playing. That's really annoying. Although this one guy, not blind did a challenge where he recorded an entire song using nothing but his iPhone for rhe microphone, no mixers or anything. The only things that weren't the phone were a real guitar and of course, his voice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0Ytf_9ZqKY
@rory-games,
thanks for the expanation how I can use it with my keyboard. I hope I'll find the things I need for it, I have to search in german because my language is german. The lightning port with USB I understood but the other I didn't really understand.
A tutorial really would be very great. If you could do that I would be happy about it.
