Yeah I agree, I think that factions should be a bigger part of the game, but maybe only on normal difficulties and above, and not for the first few turns unless your the aggressor maybe?
Just to avoid getting pounded by like three kingdoms...  But without having to make faction forming super rare to avoid that.

yeah it would be interesting to see how your choices actually impacted the world around you. i think that for me is the biggest issue with the game i have. that's not to say i don't like the game because i really do. but it never really feels like you impact the world around you. yeah you can crush the demons you can wipe out every kingdom there is but apart from public opinion which i don't really see making much of a difference the world just stays the same. if the dev can address that then that would just make a really good game that much more cool.

@Bookrage, that's an interesting idea about the difficulty, perhaps it could be something enabled or disabled in the settings, whether or not you can change the difficulty. I will put this into my difficulty update plans for the future as I plan to make the differences between easy and hard much more visible throughout the game.

@Defender, Nice additional idea!

@Darren, yep interactivity of other nations as well as them coming to you with diplomatic prompts needs to be more of a thing, planned for the future for sure! smile

As for the impacting the world around you sort of thing I think there are quite a few things in game focusing on that, there are 1000s of world events and throne room events and pop ups relating to stuff you've done, you can shape factions, change the laws of the blackmarket and effect tons of areas, I think Warsims problem sometimes is it isn't obvious what's changed in the background and so things don't seem as impactful.

hi wastelander,

the thing with the throne room and i think i've mentioned this before, but the choices you make in there don't really impact things. not to a noticeable level. for example, if you upset too many farmers would they get together and do something about the unfair treatment? or killing too many people who aren't criminals especially from different kingdoms. just some ideas there.

So let me start by saying this is one of my favourite additions to Warsim in a long time!

**LET THE PEOPLE DRINK**

The let the people drink aspect of the update is the meat of this, this is a major content update adding a new area of the game that includes lots of random events and interesting things, it adds a whole new dimension to the taverns of the world and a whole new way to explore them!

To summarise, you can drink one of many drinks in various taverns with you getting drunker as they go on. Events can happen while you drink such as throwing up, getting into fights, talking to people, tons of random and weird events and so on.

There is also the chance you passout or blackout if too drunk, this also results in additional random events!

**BRAWL PIT AND FIGHTER'S PIT IMPROVED BETTING**

The brawl pit was in need of a little bit of a rework, now it's nicer!

* Added new graphic and screens for betting in brawl pit and fighters pit
* Added new screen and graphic for brawl pit
* Fixed colour issue with victory screen in brawl pit
* Fixed ability to choose a number other than 1 or 2 when choosing a fighter to bet on in brawl pit
* Added screen to stop player betting more gold than they have in brawl pit
* Added screen to stop player betting more gold than max bet in brawl pit
* Reworked brawl pit victory screen text length
* Added new bet gold notification text to victory screen in brawl pit

**QUIT GHOSTING AROUND**

The odds of getting a ghost kingdom are fairly small but even so it didn't make any sense that diplomacy worked the same for invisible ghosts as it does for others, now that's changed

* Added new screen for diplomacy with ghost kingdom if you have seer stone
* Added new screen for diplomacy with ghost kingdom without stone
* Added ability to sacrfice to speak to ghost kingdom if they're evil
* Added ability to learn about ghost kingdom
* Added new sound 'ghost laugh' to the game

**BLACK BANK ASSASSINATION**

Now this has been reworked as it was super outdated and didn't even have a screen, I'm happy with how it's displayed now!

* Added new graphics for Black Bank unpaid
* Reworked dialougue for Black Bank unpaid
* Added new option to Black Bank unpaid resolution screen
* Added dynamic screens and sound effects to Black Bank unpaid
* Added dynamic system to pay from both gold and bank if you need to combine them

**BLACKMARKET IMPROVEMENTS**

A couple of improvements to the Blackmarket, the main improvements to it still come from the Let the people drink aspect of the update.

* Added 2 new random intro texts during century celebration festival
* Added new alterate intro text for blackmarket ruled by decorator
* Added 3 new random intro texts for Owned Blackmarket
* Added 3 new random intro texts for Unowned Blackmarket
* Fixed Blackmarket intro typo
* Fixed Blackmarket intro grammar issues on multiple texts
* Fixed wordwrap issue for Ogloob in Blackrow Tavern

**NEW NAMES**

Some name ideas courtesy of /u/elrinne, /u/lady-valkyrie and /u/Dtyn8!

Wow, that is a nice update. Very cool and even with a few new sounds. I like the Balance in the game, sometimes new Content, new textual things and on the other Hand the Sound System grows. Cool, Keep it up. I especially like the drunken Feature.

I like how much personality you've given this game, and obviously what ever helps you not burn out is a good thing, and I'm not saying this system isn't a fun addition because it is big_smile but personally I'm really holding my breath for things like more global events after the demons, improved combat, and improved internal politics.
All these smaller things add flavor to the game, and without them Warsim wouldn't be what it is, so I wouldn't discount them, but the core of the game is still lacking, and it's what causes most players to stop playing after the initial obsession period of a week or two, so it's very important IMO.
But if other things are taking your attention I understand that updates would need to be smaller, I just personally hope that these parts of the game get worked on pretty soon, so that I have a reason to really sink my teeth into the game once more for purposes other than bug fixing or checking out small side systems.


The bug fixes and additional dialogues are always a valuable addition in my eyes though, so thanks for that!

@Defender, fair enough, I can appreciate what you're saying, in your opinion what is Warsim lacking before it could be considered a complete and good game? smile

I'm looking at doing the combat overhaul soon, although I'm a little worried about how much work it's going to be, might be months and months of no releases haha

yeah the game sort of stops after you beat the demons
we need like falk revolts, if you force them so much
diffrent nations reacts difrently along your choices
maybe one of your reletives starts up an other rebble after the curront rebbles are destroyed, a new goblin empire borns
all the nations combine their powers to crush you, equnomical events, i dont know the game sort of stops after some time

I will say, depending on the combat overhaul, I'm not really having any problems with it so IMO I think we should have the option to use the old system, especially while the new one is getting worked out and even after that might be nice. Sort of, "you want simple combat or really in-depth,) I'm fine with the combat as is?

@Omer, when you beat demons you can still fight infinite amounts of ever stronger growing independent kingdoms.

I like the idea of big curveball events throw at us randomly ad infinium though.

@Bookrage, It won't be too much more complex, the goal should be to make it more descriptive and exciting with random events but not too complex to play with compared to before.

Hi. I really love this game. I do have a few ideas and suggestions. First of all, the combat. Do you think there could be an option that we can set so that we can see the total number of enemies killed instead of seeing enemy killed every single time someone dies? That gets really annoying for screen readers. Also, the sounds in the death system don’t have time to play. It sounds really weird. Do you think you could please add the ability for kingdoms to research different technology so that they can modernise? I know this would be a lot to add, But I’d be very willing to purchase this as an expansion. I think the work that you are doing on this game is absolutely phenomenal. Also, do you think you could please add the ability to change the volume of the music? Do you think you could please also add a save management system? Thanks in advance. Have a great day.  Edit, oh, I almost forgot. While the game is loading there are some strange symbols and characters. Do you think this could also be disabled?

Hopefully, we'll get a fully accessible open world game someday.

As for the music volume currently no, Warsim's volume would have to be adjusted using the volume mixer of your computer as currently adjusting it within the game itself would also effect your windows notification sounds I believe.

Isn't there already a save management system? what is missing?

I will be glad when the combat overhaul is ready. It seems like for a combat oriented game, that is the weakest point. I really like how Six Ages handles combat, it makes you feel more like you have something to say about it.

I use the search link near the top of the site, then the advanced search link on that page.
I don't always remember any keywords, so then I tend to go username+only the room I know it's in+Subject which is alphabetical.  Then I can choose either descending or ascending order depending on which end of the alphabet it's close to.
If the post was recent though I'd probably just use the username.
