Hi!
Every time I login here, I get this message, then I prepend https:// to the address bar, and it works.
Does this mean my password gets sent in plain text every time I login? It says the plain http request was sent. This must mean an unencrypted request arrived at the https port, meaning anyone who snooped could get my password.
Are you kidding me?

this forum ssl is buggy

For some reason this doesn't happen if you log in immediately after loading the forum homepage, but it does if you're anywhere else (inside a room/topic), and also if you were somewhere else and went back to the forum homepage.

I think this is maybe because of an error during forum setup. Maybe, the forum static url is still set to http://forum.audiogames.net so the forum don't works with the url properly.

Not sure, but maybe some modifications need to be made to the .htaccess file to force SSL all the time, and to reject any requests originating from port 80.

the problem. The plain http request was sent to https port
is a Nginx  server problem.
this happens when the Nginx  server is set up to listen to http and to https traffic at the same time.
people get that error because each time a client try's to connect to the website  using http, the request of that is re direct to https. it's because the server wants  to use SSL but the original request was sent with a plane http request.

I think with a little look into the server config file the problem can be fixed.

Have a lovely day.

I don't think this website runs NGINX. I think it's Cloudflare and Apache. But other than that, I think you're on to something.

Either way, unless and until the webmasters get off their collective haunches and look at the site, it will not be fixed, so discussion is academic at this point.
