I'm trying to do arbitrary code execution in the normal Pokémon Crystal game (I completed it so many times that I'll try to break it!) but heck it's hard. Specially to get a so-called "bad clone".

Hey folks! I just found this. I don't need to explain anything, but looks cool! It's compatible with the script.
Edit: I've caught a shiny Caterpie and a shiny Ledyba in this hack! That's weird... many shiny have come to me lately big_smile.
Edict (2nd time): Now I've caught a shiny Pidgey! What's happening in this game? Seems shiny's are often encountered frequently.
Edit (3rd time): Now I've caught a shiny Lefmew, which is the beta Hoppip). I've no Pokéballs at all!

@ekyo-NEC2608: That's really cool.
Are there any accessible pokemon randomisers?

Heh I found me a code that says in its description that it will max the dv of your pokemon but when i apply it, it has no effect at all.
I put my pokemon on pc and unbox it there after but no changes on its stats.

Maybe, I am missing something that is why this code has no effect on the dv of my pokemon..

2019-07-27 01:47:55

Stat changes like that only slowly show up over time. You will only see a pokemon's potential reflected in their stats at lvl 100.

2019-07-27 08:18:48

A ROM hack is free! but I wonder why people put URL shortteners to download them patched? That page linked above by pates is an example of that.

Pokémon Ancient Ruby/Sapphire is playable. The only thing that doesn't work is the pathfinder and the camera, footsteps and text surprisingly works.

I hope someone will do some tweaking on that lua scrypt so that the j k an l navigation key on this ancient ruby and saphire will work at list.
Just like in anniversary when you start in canto region? though the m key wont work, the j k and l key works properly so you can still navigate toward an object even though sometimes, the name of the objects are not describe properly. if only that will be applied to this ancient ruby sapphire.

2019-07-28 03:03:47 (edited by Dekyo-NEC2608 2019-07-28 03:08:06)

@UltimateBlade Nope, you don't start in Kanto, you start in Hoenn, like the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald game, that's why it's called Ancient Ruby/Sapphire. You can follow the thread here. The bad thing is that you can't download attached files if you don't have an account there. I really hate that behavior in some forums.

no, i am talking about the anniversary. What i am trying to say is that if only the lua scrypt would be tweaked so that it will work on this ancient ruby alpha just like when that scrypt work alsow on anniversary when you are starting in canto.
And yeh, i was able to download the ancient ruby alpha though that is why i know that the j k and l on that  lua scrypt wont work on this ancient ruby.

Ah, of course but tspivey is the master here, and this hack (Ancient Ruby/Sapphire) is in beta, and I don't know if it will be completed, because I've seen various hack ROM that were abandoned.

O man I hope it gets completed before nintendo shuts it down. That's probably why you see so many abandoned hacks.

2019-07-28 06:49:25

Nintendo will shut it down if it gets very very popular like Prism.

If you mean Surf, you must go to Mahogani Town through Mt. Mortar, and go to the Lake of Rage and complete the quest that you already know... KO or catch the Gyarados, talk to Lance and complete that rocket hideout thing.

This post is for Twitch Plays Pokémon anniversary Crystal players that at least have 16 gym badges.
Hey everyone! To Twitch Plays Pokémon: Anniversary Crystal players around here... This is Phancero's distribution code and how to get it, step-by-step!

Requirements:

  • 16 gym badges

  • At least one free slot in your party

First of all, go to Goldenrod City and enter the Pokémon Communication Center (Pokécom Center).
Talk to the link receptionist (follow the path to her).
After the question "Would you like to enter a code?" choose yes. And choose yes to the dialog to save the game.
"Please enter the code". Press z, and we will be in a screen to enter the code, which is inaccessible when you navigate with the arrow keys. Now, if you haven't moved anything (arrows included) these are the steps to enter the code on that screen.

  1. One up and press z to enter the lower case keyboard

  2. One up and 3 right, press z

  3. One down and one left, press z to enter the upper case keyboard

  4. One up and one left, press Z

  5. One right and one down, press z to enter the lower case keyboard

  6. Two up and four right, press z

  7. Two down and one left, press z to enter the upper case keyboard

  8. One up and three left, press z

  9. One left and press z

  10. Three right and one up, press z

  11. One down and four left, press z

  12. One down and one left, press z to enter the lower case keyboard

  13. Two up and one right, press z

  14. Finally press z to validate the code and get the Pokémon

So, the code should be... if I'm not mistaken: 4&'r./<MN>♀'d

Note that PK and MN are special characters not verbalized by NVDA (not even using an add-on such as Speech History) that's why I included MN between inequality symbols.

That's it! Enjoy destroying the world...

Hey TPP Anniversary Crystal players... do you remember the Poké Seer house in Cianwood City? Well, the granny from that house is no longer a Poké Seer but now she's a stats judge. For those that are DV training maybe she can be useful.

So, question for those people who have tackled these late-game dungeons. Any tips on getting through mew's cave? And then the battle tent ruins later... tough stuff, or so it seems, getting through dungeons isn't really my forte, but I'd like to at least have some idea of what to try before activating walk through walls and trying every path.
Also, even though I've asked a few times, I'll ask again because this topic's more active, anyone know where to revive fostles?

2019-08-07 06:42:01 (edited by Dekyo-NEC2608 2019-08-09 07:51:52)

@anthony002 In Mew's Cave, you must throw the boulder to the warp 33. After of that, there will be a message saying "Maybe that broke the water?". Just fall in that hole and voila, you've access to other warp that was blocked or hidden in the water. I highly recommend you to use the camera before follow the path to a warp, because a warp can be a door or a hole.

And fossils are revived in the Ruins of Alph's research center.

Well I also have a question regarding DV breeding. I've heard that if you catch various Ditto with  a maximum value in a certain DV, and mate it with a Pokémon the child can inherit a DV value, is that true? Or am I mixing DV and the modern IV system? But I'm talking about TPP Anniversary Crystal, which have several things from later generations. It have Pokémon characteristics, but not natures, take that into account.
