I would like it if either the toy combo gauge could be extended (to maybe 5 or 6), and if you could get 6 in eight seconds, you could be able to do something with your space bar that hurt the elves.

Yeah, kinda wondered if it was a new grid, but thanks for letting me know. How much of a pain would it be to transfer the elves and remaining toys to that grid?

I don’t think it will be too difficult. I am assuming that elves and toys are stored within their lists. If so, to keep them, just don’t clear the lists.  I would of course look for the list and check if anything is out of bounds of the grid, but other than that, I don’t think  it would cause any issues.
Of course, how to fix the out of bounds issue is your prerogative, Liam, but for toys, I would just pick a random number between one and the maximum size of the grid.  Elves might be a tad more difficult to deal with, we do not want an elf to land on the player unfairly, do we?

Its not really a pain, but it's just something that's not really in the design of the game. Consider the shift to be a one on one battle against Santa. or something.

I do too, keeping the toys around is a little weird for me as well. Elves might make sense, but I would agree with the post above in that I considered the Santa fight to be one on one.

2019-07-11 16:23:45

I dunno. Each to their own and all. I can see Santa dismissing the elves, but the toys aren't going to just disappear, and making it so that the toys are still collectable while Santa is trying to squash you strikes me as a neat idea. He's actually pretty easy to avoid if you play it safe; this will sweeten the pot.

the other thing is that the grid with santa on it is 70 by 70, and the grid with the toys is a good deal larger I forgot the actual coordinates right now but it's probably like 100 by 100, so you would have to scale it down. Also, I agree with the 750 points not being nearly enough thing. The amount of time it takes to find all the keys is too long to ever justify 750 so there is no point doing it, especially since you're a lot safer only  picking up one, and you just have to hope that you get lucky and the door it unlocked is near you.

Well. it is partially based on luck. Are you lucky enough to have that door pop up right next to you?
That being said I'll probably do some point increasing.

Hey all.
Life got really busy, and the updates didn't quite happen.
Starting in December, I am going to have to kick LWorks in to high gear. Hoping to talk about why soon along with official stuff and all that.
Anyways. I am working for the next two weeks on TGTR. A lot of ideas that people had just aren't going to make it in, but I am going to be adding some more achievements. If there are any simple straight forward ideas of things you'd like to see, please let me know.
The different points for toys idea is a good one, but that will require a complete recreation of the scoring system, and I just don't have time right now.

Ah, Christmas is coming soon, gonna download the game and run it again!

General point increases would be good, particularly in the part of the game where you're collecting keys.
I'd like to see the toys remain on the board when Santa shows up, so you can nip around getting a few if you're lucky, and further increase point total (maybe have toys count for triple points at this juncture?)
Would it be a huge headache to give players a brief (like five seconds) speed-up after getting three toys in under ten seconds or whatever it is right now? Like boost mode, but you're still unable to kill elves.

So interesting thing about toys.
When Santa shows up, you are actually warped to a brand new grid. the game doesn't really tell you this, but you get zpped over to a new place.
I will increase the bonuses as I knwo that's oen thing everyone wanted.
Adding a sort of speed up probably isn't in the cards at this point, but I'll give it some thought.

Maybe a mode where you try to avoid the toys and have to be hit by elves but they keep running away from you because they set a trap with those toys. I don't know.

what about a mode where you get to play as santa after you get a certain high score.

2019-11-23 02:55:58

Hi Liam,
Have you considered adding any lore about the workshop?
After playing the game for quite some time now it feels like this Santa doesn't seem like the one that we all know, and I really don't know if one boy's actions could ruin all of Christmas, especially based on the final phase of the workshop. That seems like more of a defense mechanism, I don't think Santa would have truly gone that route for his real sleigh. I could be wrong though.
If you are interested, I've actually started a lore topic. I've purposefully left stuff out of it because I'd like others to join in.

It would be cool if there would be an achievement if you play tgtr for example in july. Also, if the audioachievements aren't possible, can you atleast record the main menu?

Best regards: Marco

Meh, IMHO you should just stop stalling and start with brain station if the updates aren't going to be very substantial...
Personally I'm kinda tired of pointless achievements that only serve to inflate the total number.  You've kinda set a trend now and newer games tend to give you achievements for the most incredibly basic of things, accept unlike you, they usually aren't even that funny.
It defeats the value of the word achievement when all you did was run the speaker test, hit escape during a game, or view the scoreboards.  I enjoy the text for some of them, but I certainly don't feel like I've earned much for most of them when the bar has been made so low.
Maybe that's just me though?  I do understand the reasoning behind giving beginner players or those who just aren't good at games something to be happy about I guess...

Bah! humbug.

2019-11-23 14:50:43

No. I'm not planning on recording spoken menus as having one menu spoken, but not the others would be very jarring.

So random question. What exactly are each of the toys that you pick up?, I assume there are a few baby rattles and a pogo stick, and a nosemaker? Would love to know what everything is.

Rattle, Pogostick,Noise Maker, bouncy ball, toy train? squeaky toy, horn which is possibly a clown nose, and that's all I can remember ATM
I would love to see a talking doll personally...  I think it would really round things out.
