I just implemented a simple validator. Someone smart enough may be able to break it, but meh.

Quick suggestion: The game may save high scores for each mode, for example: I got a score of 1000000 points in the arcade mode and I wasn't connected to the internet, the game may save this for posting the score later.
Regards.

Hi.
Ahem? I don't know what happened hahahaha. Maybe there's a limit for boost items or stuff, cause I got something like 3 or 4 and it threw this error back to me:

I guess you got boosted too much? Of course it's not your fault; it is called bug. I thought I was blocking the parameter not to be illegal, but obviously it is not working as expected. I'm sorry about that.

Hi.
Lol, damn me, I was breaking it for the first time and I don't know, but guess I got the same bug.

Hello.
I have a question.
In future updates, will there be other mini games sort of?
Its like, your character is walking, and the enemies are positioned in the field which consists of three lames, I don't know how, but its like the enemies have there own sound, and you have to punch them before bumping into them, that'll go on and on till you reach a door at the end of the field, you can add boost items to boost your speed and make it more challenging, and the slow down to slow you and give you some time to move and punch, you may add other stuff to .
You may do this as a mini game which has sevral levels inside, or another mode which you'll give a certain name, the choice is yours.
Regards.

Hi.
Nice concept idea, like you're the enemy and need to reach and punch the other guys that do stand off you?
How would you call it if this is screamming stryke? Stryking scream? haha.

Take care.
Mike.

I would separate games if I were doing that. I prefer one program one game, especially if it's a mini game.

Checking the traceback, is jfw doing something nasty? I uninstalled my jfw16, so can't test it. Maybe I need to switch to tolk?

@nyanchan. You have released your code under the GPL, which raises a few questions for me:
1: I looked up how does GPL work... and what I found says the following:
You may copy, distribute and modify the software as long as you track changes/dates in source files. Any modifications to or software including (via compiler) GPL-licensed code must also be made available under the GPL along with build & install instructions.
Does this mean that, should I use any part of your code in my project, even if the said code remains unchanged, I must release my project as open source?
2:
What if I would like to use only a part of your code? Fragments, if you will? Does that fall under the category of modification? What steps must I take in order to uphold the lawful use of your property?
I understand that I must include the file itself and give you credit, and I have no issues with doing so, I just want to make sure that I'm not missing any other requirements.

@211 This FAQ might help you. http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.htm … mmercially

So, you're allowed to sell but you must make the source code available to your buyers.

2019-09-27 02:33:26

The source code of what. The entire application? What if my project is not commercial?

2019-09-27 16:33:23 (edited by nyanchan 2019-09-27 16:34:41)

Strictly saying, yes, GPL defines that you must open source your project as GPL license if you used any of ss2 code. However, I'm not going to demand that; just email me or post here how you want to use it, then it'll just be fine. Even if you release your program as closed source, it's totally OK if I knew it. Crediting will be appreciated, but I won't force you to do so.

@215, I sent you a PM.

Chrome wouldn't show the PM inbox page. Can you send an email instead?

Well, I sent the email, but it gave me a 400 http request error so idk if it went through.
As a quick tip, if you want to get to Pm's, do the following.
1: Find somebody else, another user.
2: click on PM link.
3: Exit out of the composer fields and scroll up. You should see the "private messages" link.
4: Click that link, you should now be on the page which allows you to go to your inbox if not in the inbox already.

Sorry people, but I'm new to the forum.. I downloaded Screaming Strike 2 for Mac, and nothing happens when I try to install it when its finished. Why is this? This game sounds like so much fun.

2019-10-02 20:52:43

Not sure what your question is. But it should work if the installer did its thing. It's a portable installer, so you will have to find the game's directory as it just closes when it's done.

Hi. I just found a possible problem, and reporting it seems smart. In Mac OS Catalina, when playing the game, the sounds cuts out, and a text-to speech event has to be caused in order to get sound back. You can do this by pausing the game or pressing s for your score, but it's kind of frustrating.

nothing like that happened to me when I played it with mac 10.15. Hmm, weird. When does it happen?

If it persists, maybe I will need to update mine and see what I can do. But I don't want to do that to be honest because the Japanese support for OSX is getting worse and worse.
