Unity have asked developers for input on what they could do to improve accessibility.

Please don't register and leave feedback yourself, it's a developer forum so clogging it with feedback from gamers will do more harm than good.

But if you've ever had a conversation with a developer whose response was "we would love to, but Unity doesn't support it", now might be a good time to give those developers a nudge, and ask them to post a request for it. The more developers posting to say they would like to see it fixed the better.

Here's the link to pass on to developers -

If you are a developer yourself, jump in... They want to hear about what they can do to make the editor itself more accessible too, and the website and the asset store.

It certainly took them long enough.

Take care, it's a desert out there.

I'm a bit sad that gamers aren't really welcome, because in some ways I feel like we're more likely to understand what developers should be able to do from a real-world perspective. Things like adding TTS functionality should be a given.

yeah but at least they started,

@3 developers are a necessary link in the chain though as that's who unity have the relationship with.. if you can picture an internal meeting at Unity trying to prioritise what to work on it is easy to imagine that the topic of conversation will be what their customers want, and it's game developers who are their customers.

The game developers in turn need to be caring about their own customers, and to do that the customers need to be removing the game developers that they should be caring smile Now is the time to be hitting up all the accessibility-friendly Unity devs you know and asking them to post requests.

Now if someone could find the AHC developers, they were talking about this at some point but have since vanished

Awesome. I think that'll change things in the future.

Best regards SLJ.
