Hi all. I love learning about video games, especially the ones I can't play. "What," you may ask? "There are other fan fiction categories than Harry Potter?

Yep, there are. From Mortal Kombat to my latest kick, Silent Hill, they're there. And there are even novelizations, games made into novel (book) form, of some games.

First, I get most of my Fanfiction stories, hereafter called Fanfics for short, from fanfiction.net. If anyone knows of other sites with high quality content for games' fanfics, please let me know. I use Fanficfare, from https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFare, to download the stories.

Note: Please ask about fanficfare in another topic. If you post on this one about how hard fanficfare is to use, or how command line bad, or how the web service isn't working right, or how Caliber bad, I'll eat all of your food. Yes, all of it. Every single bite, all in my belly. Mmmm, I can't wait!

Now, on to the good stuff! Firstly, the novelizations I've found are very well written, with just a few spelling errors here and there. Starting with my favorite one, and close to my favorite written work of all time, is one of the Silent Hill 2 novelizations, at

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/2469215/1/ … ent-Heaven

This tells the story of Silent Hill 2 from James' point of view, although there is another that tells the story from Sami'el's point o view, for some reason. But, it's another take on the story, and another novelization of the game, if you like the supposed higher vantage point. Ah, but I've gotten ahead of myself! Silent Hill 1:

If you're more into Fantasy, there is so much for you! Final Fantasy novelizations about, like one for Final Fantasy 6:

Final Fantasy 7:

Even the Legend of Zelda has many novelizations, like this one, which isn't 100% accurate to the game, but which I've read much of:

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/3001279/1/ … d-Complete

Or this one, which I'm sure if it's complete:

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/228759/1/

Coming back to Square for a second, or a minute, or an hour, or whatever time, is Chrono Trigger! Sure, the scripts in progress for us to be able to play the game are probably dead, but the novelization isn't! See:

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/2192794/1/

The Chrono Trigger one, Sands of Time, may not be 100% accurate, or probably expands upon the game. If you want purity, see:

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/263133/1/C … gger-Novel
Beware, though, that that one is the whole story in one "chapter" on the Fanfiction site, so I'd download that one and read it offline to save some loading time and trying to figure out where you left off.

There are others, like a few Resident Evil novelizations, just be careful because some contain characters made up by the author, or a fantasized version of the author themselves, which, of course, has to change the story, or fall in love with the author's obviously favorite character of the opposite sex, and all that nonsense. But, for the most part, … well, sometimes, fanfiction novelizations are a great way to dive deeply into the games we all would love to play, and we should all try to thank authors for bringing these games to us, in a form which even we can enjoy.

Hi
I just found this:

This is a list of some novelized games. I am also interested in these novelizations, so if anyone has something to contribute to this topic, feel free to do so.
