Hello, I made a topic this morning about a poll which admin you dislike the most, and it is no longer there and i did not delete it.
was it deleted by any admin for a reason? if yes? can you tell me the reason please? I gave the permission to close the topic whenever you wish but deleting my topic means that you are trying to shut me up, which I don't like at all and will not stay in a place where they control my thoughts and what I say, if you deleted my topic, how can I be sure that yo won't edit my posts too? because they are kindda similur, Also if you did delete it, did it have anything to do with 33 people voting on a certain person?

@1 God knows how and why it got deleted. But if a staff member deleted it, then I guess that we should assume that we don't have any rights to speak against the so called team. It's enough.

There was also a bit of downtime after the post was vaporized...
I'd really... really like to know what the score is here.

Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.

I guess they didn't had any good reason to close the topic, or some one raged and deleted the topic?

@exodus I might know the reason for that, but i'll keep it to myself for the moment, i'm scared of my posts being edited / deleted and waiting for a mod to confirm that my topic was in fact deleted.

@Exodus Oh yeah....
@5 Same worry over here. I'd really like to have a clear answer, not the shady ones.

ok wow this, is, interesting...
i shall not reveal my thoughts;rather wait for one of the admins/mods to clarify what really happened (if all of them really know which i sincerely hope they do).
I'll say this much though...
If My(and i'm sure many other's) suspitions are indeed correct, then whatever was done did not help the situation at all.
Time to observe and absorb now
good day

Yeah, weird... there was also downtime after...
maybe the domain got a little screwed and the topic was lost?

I am wondering if there was a server hickup of some sort. Were there any other topics around that time that disappeared? Mods close topics, not delete them.

Nothing else seems unchanged, topics like the ppsspp topic in general game discussion still seem to be there and active topics from around that time still have all their posts.
For the most part, server balls-ups are generally not that precise, but it could still have happen I guess.
Can't really rule anything out at this point.

Again. Anything is possible, but topics being erased by members of staff is very uncommon due to the fact that no record is kept for users to look at. Vs. if a topic is closed then everyone has an idea of why it was closed.

@9, it was an idea.
how is having an idea being, naive, as you put it?
I have never seen a mod delete a topic.
It is very much a possibility, remember when the sight was down for a couple days once and we lost topics?
Considering the downtime, I believe it is a possible explimation.
Anything is possible.

Ahha, and the downtime comes right after that particular topic, and post numbers change at that exact time, too.

wouldn't be surprised if the server had to restore from a backup. It's been some what stable lately, but I remember when there were constant issues with it.

A few things:

1. the server has been a bit weird the last couple of days, and I don't know why. I had difficulty even accessing the website yesterday morning, and have also experienced intermittent errors when trying to search for things or connect at all.
2. This topic was mentioned on the staff mailing list, but when I went digging for it, I couldn't find it myself. consequently, I have never seen it, and thus did not delete or modify it in any way. At this time, I have no info on anyone else, but I feel it is reasonably safe to assume that no one else deleted it either. Look at all the silly topics we've simply locked instead of deleting over the last while.
3. While I would not delete such a topic by any means, I do feel that such posts or polls or whatnot are more damaging than helpful. Do you remember when Ironcross (I'm like 98% sure it was Ironcross) started a poll trying to get Mason banned? Same deal. Probably not a good thing to do. You're free to hold your opinions, but depending on how they are expressed and what your intentions are, that could be problematic. This is nothing more or less than highlighting the fact that you may be on thin ice, morally speaking. However, not having seen the post or topic itself, I don't know precisely what was said, and the tone in which it was said, so I won't chase this angle until or unless I have to.

The problem is that if I am right, the topic already got deleted before the server error. But Alireza, tell me if I'm wrong.

so, due to the server issues, a particular topic got deleted, aha! sounds strange! I hope mods will give a more specific and logical reason behind it.

So I'm going to float a few possibilities.

1. The server had to restore an older version of the forum thus losing some topics.

2. A rogue mod erased the topic and isn't speaking up. I find this highly unlikely. Jayde has already said he didn't do it, and so I take him at his word.

3. The original poster erased his own topic, and then created this one to stir up more drama.

Those are what I think are the most likely possibilities.

Liam, thank you for at least voicing that third possibility. I did not want to be the one to say it, as there is absolutely no proof one way or the other. If it turns out that this was the case, however - someone made the post, then for whatever reason deleted it and is now trying to cast doubt on the staff team - that's an extremely slimy thing to do. Just sayin'.

Going back through reports, I can see that the topic did exist as of early this morning, but some time between the last report and this topic going live, the thread in question was deleted. Frankly, I don't know who did it. All I can tell you definitively at this point is that it wasn't me, and it wasn't anyone I'm aware of. What I can also point out, however, is that server issues have been happening off and on for a couple of days now, so while that option isn't likely, it can't be wholly ruled out either.

, I dont know  behind the scenes of how it works, so kant say anything,
I will not comment on that one,
2. A rogue mod erased the topic and isn't speaking up. I find this highly unlikely. Jayde has already said he didn't do it, and so I take him at his word.
that's not the issue who deleted the topic, the issue is, why mods are abusing there powers?
I am not saying this on the bases of my opinion, I am just addressing the liams point!
3. The original poster erased his own topic, and then created this one to stir up more drama.
we had a conversation about this thing and the poster was shocked!
and I am shure he have not dun it! so, mods and alireza are equally doubted,

I never said mods were abusing their powers. Again. We don't even know why/how it was deleted, so anything at this point is speculation. and 22. As ridiculou as option 3 is. It's about as ridiculous as option 2. Especially when a mod has come in to the topic and said he had nothing to do with erasing it.
