Hmmm, oddely enough the other tasks have an "okay" next to them (well accept for spend all stamina since I have one left), but I did receive the grail tocan for voting so it obviously worked.
I also wonder if theree is a way to show when viewing the questbook which quests you have and haven't completed, especially since it seems many quests need to be done over several days which is nice as  it forces me to come back).

Edit: okay it obviously was the refresh since I just checked now and yes indeed I do have the okay on voting in the daily tasks list, sorry for the confusion, I'm still learning my way around the game).

It certainly is odd! smile
Especially because the other "Ok" images seem to be displayed for you. I don't understand why that one for voting isn't showing for you.
As for the quests, there are symbols showing if the quest is either completed, failed or unfinished.

It would come to no surprise if this voting issue is the same as the why you don't see those quest images (with alt attribute). So we just need to find and solve this smile

Hi.

The okay check is showing up as I said, though with the quests, there is just a graphic saying "quest status" which doesn't tell me whether they're completed or failed.
I definitely have alt text for images showing elsewhere, I'm using Chrome and NVDA, though I can check with internet explorer if that would help.

You were absolutely right, the alt attribute said nothing more than "quest status".
I've changed it, hopefully this will be providing you with more information about your quest progress.
As always, thank you for reporting!

Hi. Thanks for the fixed to the quest status, that makes sense now.
I have two more questions I'm afraid, one is something which might just be me not noticing, the other might require labels etc.

First, in the blacksmith's I noticed that I needed to actually select a project and hit "proceed" to see what items were required to build it, which seemed a trifle odd to me, if I'm just missing where this is written fair enough.
Second, when collecting eggs from my chicken I noticed that some of the buttons labels were a little odd, for example there is a "submit" button that seems to be needed to hire followers, and the button to perform an action on the chicken was labeled "action chicken" obviously I'd rather not start slaughtering chickens if I can avoid it, though it is again entirely probable that I'm missing options, since as I don't have a butcher's knife at the moment (still trying to build one), I am not noticing the difference between the button to collect eggs and buttons to perform other actions.

The game is definitely interesting, I like the idea of logging in every day to do a little more stuff and take care of things, though probably like everyone else I am wanting more stamina big_smile.

- Glad the quest status has been resolved.

- At the Workshops you indeed select a project first and once you proceed (and refreshed the page) the requirements are displayed. It might be a little odd but that's how I've made it. At the time it was the best I could do as far coding goes. smile

- Many of the button titles might be a little weird, this is because I used these names for triggering a mouse-over as well. At the ranch all animals have only one action you can do -apart from slaughtering the animal- So "action chicken" is always looking for eggs, "action sheep" would be shearing, and so on. If you see "action_slaught", then you better get your knife ready. Still to slaughter an animal, an extra confirmation is requested.

Again, a bit clumsy but the best I could come up with in short time smile

I've actually been meaning to ask this for awhile, but is it possible to create a way for it to show screen readers the progress towards the next combat level? Currently it only shows the word progress, which I ass ume is either a graphically bar or possibly text it can't read. Also, when trying to view equipment there is supposed to be a way to see it's stats, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Someone told me that you can mouse over and it will show, however when I do the command for my screen reader to mouse over it doesn't show anything.

Note - It also doesn't show us the current durability of our equipment, unless it is in a place I haven't looked yet.

2019-05-13 18:25:10

the durability of your items can be found in residence/items. not sure about equipment durability as combat items don't break as far as I know.

anyone have any suggestion a good way to make money? , I have milk and wool, but not sure what to do with them other then cook/craft it , I know the fact that you could list your goods on the market, but the chance for someone purchase your stuff is a little slim.

2019-05-13 20:56:42

@Lord Arogandor, that makes sense both as regards the animal actions and the prices for items, its no problem to look up, I just wasn't sure if there was a mouseover or other bit of text I happene to be missing, ditto with the action buttons for animals.

@JasonBlaze, from what I've seen thus far,you can make money doing jobs for other people in the labour hall, though not a lot as yet it seems, maybe you can get better cash by looting monsters, I'm not sure since I'm still doing the tutorial quests and haven't yet tried any combat.

As far as I know armor will need to be repaired and do have durability points.

Hi everyone
I'm quite interested in this game and I'm going to register now. I'm very happy and thankful to the developer of this game because he has made the game accessible and he's still working on it despite being a single developer of the game.
@Mirage I'm going to use your referrer. My username in the game will be lord pranam so if anyone wants to gift me a couple of grail token they can do so by putting my name in their referrer field. Thanks in advance.
I'm really confused on the town selection screen, ahaha. Look forward to see you all in the grail tavern. Thanks again to Lord Arogandor for the accessibility tweaks.
Edit: I got this error after selecting my hometown.
The Grail Lords - Account Activation
Error: Field 'objects' doesn't have a default value
(please contact Lord Arogandor)
Second edit: Sorry for pinpointing things as soon as I logged in, but I think it is necessary big_smile.
Daily Reset happens in <b>16</b> hours and <b>11</b> minutes
I suppose the html tags were printed the way they were written.
Third edit: I'm doing the tutorial quest and I reached the stage of building a wooden shaft, I'm told that I'll will need 5 woods and 100 units of something, but that thing is not read by my screen reader, I assume it's the stamina because after I built the shaft,  I was told that I have 0 of it. I'm using NVDA with chrome.
I've checked and it wasn't my stamina, I don't have any idea what it could be.
Forth edit: It was stamina required so in this case, I had to spend 50 stamina building the shaft as 2 units of that thing requires 1 stamina.
Fifth edit: Sorry a fifth edit made it here but one of the voting site is inaccessible. It requires us to solve a math sum question, but our screen reader can't read it. The site's address is this

Best regards
Pranam
Don't forget to give me a thumbs up!

You will have to contact the site that hosts the math question to vote about the issue as it is not owned by Aro. The alternative is to register with the help of a sighted person to do the math question. If you are logged in you never have to do the question again.

+ I will add change the combat progress experience. Making sure that the experience is shown.

+ Equipment statistics (including durability) are shown when hovering on the equipment image. If this isn't shown properly by the screen-readers then we'll have to find a solution for it. Until then, you can look up all existing equipment at the help-files. A bit clumsy for now, but the best we have at the moment. (https://thegraillords.net/castle/info_equipment.php)

+ Equipment does lose durability while being used in combat. It will take a while before something actually will break especially if it's made of a higher quality. So I doubt this will be an issue anytime soon. All equipment can also be repaired again in exchange for stamina.

+ Welcome Pranam, always nice to have another Seeker taking up their Quest. Thank you for the error report when activating your account, I'll have to fix that.

+ The <b> tags are shown because I've used the same function to display time for the screen-readers as Seekers who actually see them. Not very clean, but fast smile Will be solved in time -I hope- smile

+ All tools, items, potions, require a certain amount of (production) units, these units increase as you spend stamina working on the project. When your skills improve you will complete more units for the same amount of stamina. You can find a list with all existing items and their production costs here: https://thegraillords.net/help.php#28.

+ The voting sites seem to care little about their accessibility. They mostly exist to generate income by advertisements. If it wasn't for the voting rewards, we would have removed them from the game already. I guess the more people contact these sites, the more motivated they will be to make alterations smile

As always, thank you for your feedback, as soon I can, I'll try to make the promised changes.

2019-05-16 16:45:39

+ The issue when activating your account has been resolved.

+ I've updated the display for the combat experience, hopefully this will be easier to read on a screen-reader.

I have a question about guilds.
It seems guilds give greater xp when practicing skills in workshops,  is there a limit on how many guilds you can try? It took me a few days to finish the butcher's knife, and I suspect I might have had it done quicker if I were in the smith guild, but since I've only just started the game and don't know at this stage what skills I'll specialise in or how things will go, I don't want to limit my options early and I'm not sure if you join one guild if it precludes you from joining others.

Regarding guilds: The primary purpose of guilds are to be able to apprentice under a master (Level 80 or higher) and be able to use their skill to craft items. In return for using their skill crafting level they get your guild experience when you work on your items. You can only apprentice until you are level 40 of that skill.

If you do not apprentice under a master the guild experience will be your own, and the person with the highest guild level gets the ability to teach a class at the university. Guild experience does not help you finish your work faster and there is no limit on the number of guilds you can join.

As far as extra experience from working while in a guild, I've never seen an increase when leveling. It's always a base line per stamina times your skill level when you reach 20,40,60,80, and 100. At level 1 you get 100%, level 20 you gain 20% less, level 40 you gain 40% less so forth and so on. So at level 1 if you spent 100 stamina you would gain 0.5 experience, but at level 20 for 100 stamina you would gain 0.4 experience, 20% less than what you would have gotten at level 1 - 19.

2019-05-18 11:05:12

You can join any guild at any time as long you pay the entrance fee. Your membership is valid for exactly one year.
Joining a guild doesn't affect the amount of experience you gain. As an apprentice you can try joining a master. If the master accepts you, you will be able to make tools of higher quality (yet you can make only one in each workshop at the same time).
You still will be using your own skill and receive the normal amount of experience.

The benefit for apprentices is they can make better tools, which usually are more profitable in terms of effect and durability.
The masters will receive guild score points for each stamina their apprentice spend on making tools of the related guild.

Hi,
Thanks @164. The game is very very interesting. Managed to do many quests but still have to do a lot of hard work big_smile.
That's pretty awesome @165, thanks for rolling out fixes fast. I've seen inaccessible graphs in the game but unfortunately, I don't remember where, but I'll post as soon as I see them again.

Best regards

Mirage, just curious if you still play the game.

Dear Seekers,

I've added some additional changes this week that hopefully will make your life a little more easy in the Realm.
Special thanks to Seeker Taleria who wrote a detailed report about what still could be improved.

+ Added labels to select what creature to hunt on while being in the forest.
+ The activity icon contains now the activity rather than just the color in the alt attribute.
+ The country flags contain now the name of the country in the alt attribute. Should make it more easy to find fellow country(wo)men.

As always, we appreciate your feedback to further improve the Grail Realm! smile
