Hi guys.
So, I had xplorer2 ultimate installed, I bought the full thihng, and I liked it. I updated to the may 2019 update of windows 10, and i was reverted back to windows explorer.
Ok, a little strange, I'll just rerun the installer, i thought.
Well, i hit replace windows explorer, and, nothing.
I even tried restarting. It's forcing windows explorer on me!
has anyone else had this problem?
If so, were you able to fix it? and how?
Thanks
Ty

Hmmm.
Ribbon disabler also does not work in this latest version.
Try this

Old new explorer works in this version, of course who knows about the next one.
If you can, I'd go back to the previous version of windows, uninstall your shell replacement, and update then put it back in.
I am actually thinking about doing this with this new version or the next version when it comes out.

I' will stick with the new explorer despite the lag, it doesn't affect me, eaven the ribbon.

@3, i quite like the new explorer, it's just i paid 50 dollars for a file explorer a few months ago, just to have that all go to shit because of a fucking windows update?

Should've gotten the pro version through trialpay when that option was presented, lol. Either way it's unfair, but perhaps they oughta charge la little less for it if they know they can't maintain it 24/7 on such an ever-changing operating system. It was fine in the windows 7 days when all you got were service pack updates, but things are changing now.

Sorry to be blunt but it's very good. Modifying your system crucial components never pays off. But I am sorry about your 50 bucks. Can't you try and ask for a refund?

If you want to contact me, do not use the forum PM. I respond once a year or two, when I need to write a PM myself. I apologize for the inconvenience.

The devs haven't gotten back to me on a refund, so meh.
I just installed this update on another computer, and it completely fucked the appdata folder.
This is why i will stick by my statement that windows 10 can go to hell.

oh it does pay off for sure. xplorer 2 is not laggy when searching unlike normal explorer. only takes about a minute to search for something on my external with xplorer 2, but in windows explorer it takes about 5 minutes.

Here try this. open registry. expand HKEY classes root, find folder, expand that. go to shell and press tab, go to the default value, and press shift f10, click modify, and type this in. open_x2 exactly how i spelled it. press enter, and try to open up a folder from the run dialog. Boom! xplorer on windows 10!
