Hi! A quick question. In that RemCVM topic Liam told us that he'll discuss the further action with the rest of the team. Where are the bans, or atleast warnings for Simter who attacked one, particular person calling them

I would like to note that that was either yesterday or the day before that he said this. Has it occured to you that these things take a little while to smooth over? it's not just a 1 or 2 day thing.

Man, I understand all of it just perfectly. However matter of banning or warning someone should be taken very seriously and should be processed very fast.

Hello.

I wanted to consult with a couple other mods to get their take on the thread. I would prefer not to act alone in this. Sorry it's taken a couple of days.

OK Liam, I have no actual problem in it. I'm just scared that actions like this are taking too long. I am a moderator of a fairly big community myself (elten-net.eu) soI know how's it like.

Oh no. I know it's taking longer than expected, but keep in mind that.
1. I'm a new mod so I'm not exactly super comfortable just dropping warnings and banns on folks. It's not how I operate.
2. I want to make sure that any actions I take are in the spirit of the forums and what we are attempting to do here.

Well, I guess when you applied for the position you surely knew what you will have to do, so an excuse like this, is just, ehhm ehhm.

It's called being a member of a team.
a member of a team works together with the rest of their team and does not go off and do rogue things.

Ok Liam, I completely understand that!
I just wanted to check if the situation is being investigated.
I know that maybe my behavior wasnt the best one I could take, but I was just pissed off. Thank you for listening to my request.

I can understand your frustration. I know that usually a warning is handled extremely swiftly. RAther than dish out something, I wanted to look it over first.
I apologize it took two days. I know in forum time it feels much longer.

at 7, it's called teamwork. You shouldn't accuse people like that.

Yeah @7, it's not his personal playground and I understand it. Sorry for bringing this upfront.

@MasterOfDeath
A good rule of thumb is, if you want your point to actually be heard, don't make your self look like a bigger problem than the one your pointing out.  A flaw of human psychology sure, but that's reality for you, so if you think your input is useful, learn how to communicate it without obscuring it's value with your attitude.

Is there a way to mute an account but still allow them to upvote/downvote?  Maybe that should be done in the future to keep people from posting for a little bit when it's a serious situation that's worth more than just a regular warning and you want to talk it over for a bit, with the caveat that if a decision hasn't been reached in X amount of time it will be unfrozen.
I mean if your having to deal with new stuff they've done in the meantime while your thinking of previous stuff, or they have the ability to delete the posts they've made that your trying to moderate so others can't give input on them easily...  Well it could cause a problem.  Then again maybe they'd just end up tipping them selves into a ban anyway and then the problem would resolve it's self?

Thing is, the mods are handycapped allot of the time by the lack of tools this site has to offer I think, it's out of date infrastructure and lacks allot of the features that moderators on other sites find important.  With Richard and Sander out of the picture for all but emergencies, we may as well be screaming into the wind when it comes to suggestions about new site features most times.
