Hello, so i have been trying to figure out how to get a copy on windows on a mac that my lady owns.  She says she wants to play audio games, but does not want windows actually installed.  I was pointed to an article about this very topic, and i got to say it was very informative.  Thanks to the one who wrote said article.  My questions are as follow:
How much space does the virtual machine actually take up when running?  How would updates work and would it even be possible to do?  I myself have windows installed on a partition on my mac mini, but would like my space back.  I like the idea of having both systems running at the same time as i do most of what I need to do on the mac side.  Windows is mostly for audio games and quick research.

Space is all dependent on what version of Windows you're using, and the contents you have on your virtual machine's hard drive.

Updates would work like any regular windows pc. When you're running a virtual machine, you're running real windows, so nearly everything related to Windows applies to virtual machines.

Hi.
I have quoted your questions, and written the answers below each of them.

I think VmWare Fusion starts by 60 gb of space as default, but you can change that in the setup process. Please note: You can't shrink the space afterwards, as far as I know.

Yes, just like Jack says in post 2. A virtual machine works just like running Windows on a real computer, accept for fewer hardware resources.

I'm not sure what you mean by "want your space back." If you mean space in your ram, then you are getting it back when you're not using the virtual machine. However, if you are using all the hardware resources, you might getting an issue that Fusion will keep using the ram until you restart the whole computer. That doesn't happen often to me though.
Feel free to ask if you have more questions.

I think this should be in the off topic room.

I am a divine being. I can be called a primordial deity, but that might be pushing it, a smidge. I am the only one of my kind to have ten tails, with others having nine. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I have ascended my own race.

Yeah, I also thought about that, but there might come game related questions since the person wanna use the virtual machine for gaming.

Best regards SLJ.

I know this was originally a topic for running a VM of windows on a mac.  I got to say It works beautifully, and I thank those who helped a bunch..  Games run fine, but Some of the --- well NVDA add-ons have a problems running. most don't work.  I have tried reloading them, and still the same.  Also is their an easier way to switch windows with-in the VM?  Right now i use the task manager..

First thing you want to do is turn off those mac host shortcuts in fusion preferences. Alt+tab should work by pressing option+tab.

So how do I disable Voice over once the mac host shortcuts are off/  Once again, thanks for your help

Turn voiceover off like you normally would, command+f5, then hit ctrl+g to direct keyboard input to the virtual machine. Ctrl+command switches back to your host.
