Hey guys, just want to make sure no one's in the dark, it's been just shy of two weeks since the last update and the reason for this has been the scope of the new update, the throne room is getting a few added layers of complexity, but the throne room has over 1000 different encounters and sub encounters, and almost all of them are being modified. In fact, every single main encounter will be reworked so it's been a hefty task though it will be worth it in the end!

Currently I have finished 25/130 primary encounters, so a fifth of the way, though many of the systems that have been written for the first 25 will be reused by the others so as development progresses it will get easier.

Now I can't reveal some of the new additions because they are secret for now! but some things that have been done so far:

When goblins talk gibberish during throne room encounters, if your diplomat is a goblin/speaks goblin, you can actually ask what the goblin is saying, which reveals extra information
Communicating with the demon overlord as a demon servant has been modified with some spooky additions
Trials by combat can now happen if arrested people request them
Some arrested people will fight
Ability to hire new jester even if you already have one (you can also compare their stats)
Savage kingdoms will not have a phrase but instead symbols or weird savage words
Anyway, that's some of what can be expected in the update, but by the time its finished there will be much more! smile

Yeah take your time, that sounds like a ton of work but I'm already excited! especially about the trial by combat thing.
I'd rather it take longer anyway like Vylcount said, just do to the nature of what your doing.

@Caio, it has been mentioned before but it requires several big updates to pave the way before hand, First, women need to be in the game, then some kind of system of realm based politics (ie noble houses with eligible people and things to gain from marrying them, then of course some kind of child system where they grow etc, would be great but wont be soon smile

I'm only 3/4 kidding as well, I mean people are going to ask for it eventually anyway, and kids suck; especially the kind that stab you in the back in order to steal your thrown!
It worked pretty well for the Sacred Band of Thebes
Also just Roman's and Greeks in general but not as often and not usually as equals, more like knight and squire or something, with some weird double sided social stigmas involved.

Awh I wish it was 1487 ROFLMAO.
But this works better since it's in the 700s like the other one.
You should really make 1337 do something, maybe write a script to replace all letters with numbers.  God that would be awful...

The throne room reworking things Sound very cool. Are even more Sound Expansions planet for the next update? However, it already sounds awesome even with the Sub Encounters and the like, Keep it up.

@Defender 1487 is a much better idea, done! editing every string in the game would probably take me a month or so at this point if I worked daily tongue

@Niklas, of course, the throne room update is changing 5 things mainly

The majority of encounters are getting a fully dynamic response system
Every encounter is getting a new additional option (depending on your upgrades)
Every encounter is getting its line spacing sorted and text colour out so no wordwrap
Every encounter is getting checked for possible expanded and extra content and it being added where it can
And every encounter is getting sounds where relevant, so far this update will be adding more sounds than any update before it

speaking of upgrades, are we going to get more stuff to spend our money on? you can get to a point whereby you can just keep earning and earning with nothing much to spend it on.

another question, can you breed population or do you have to buy peasants? it's ok to be able to buy soldures etc i'm good with that but what about your own population can that not breed and also you being able/required to sustain it with food etc?

@darren, any ideas on what to spent money on? I've tried to add tons of stuff like entertainment and stuff but what would you like to see?

As for population, good point for the future with more economy, but currently the idea is that the population isn't owned by you, you only control your army, the militia grows over time like a population as do other figures, but they have to be paid first smile

@Niklas, forgot to add, in this update I'm starting work on a new sound effect system too, it's small currently but plan to grow it much bigger on any sound effects that get repetetive, currently if a man dies in an encounter there are 5 death sounds, and for a man laughing also 5 smile

well if you are the king of your relm then i would say that responsibilities go farther than that of the armies. armies are definitely there to protect the populus and to expand the relm for sure. but the soldures knites etc that fill the armies have to come from somewhere if you see my meaning. as well as taxing the population you need to also be able to feed it. let the farmers who come to you for help let the results of those choices be felt. the farmer requests just seem to be fillers in for example. maybe there could be food shortages if farms are burnt down or livestock is destroyed. maybe soldures need to protect farms from bandits and other nasty groups.

Yep I agree completely, it's something that will hopefully be added in a future update to the economy system! the problem is I have a backlog of tons of big things, currently working on one of those backlog to-dos which is the throne room smile

I downloaded the last free version of Warsim, and it's so interesting!
It has music, but no sounds.
Is that right, or is there something I should do for the sound effects?
It makes perfect sense if the sound effects are only in the paid version, and I'll be happy to buy it once I fully understand the game.
I just wondered if I was missing something on this version.

sounds great with the new Sound System work. Cool. More new mini games as well as more mini RPG's would be fantastic in the Feature. Maybe even Card games in some taverns and the like. Just a Suggestion.
