The problem is, as far as I know nobody really knows. Like all the usual stuff is a given... killing lots, collecting more items, maybe ending with a bucketload of cash... etc etc. But nobody's tested it, and as far as I know the devs never said anything.

Here's the other thing. If you only buy the stuff that matters, you will alsays have BP left over if you explore. I can usually do a full playthrough (extra dungeon included) in about 4 hours, sometimes a little more if I'm being really thorough. I always make sure to carry over my sword level, plus stat items (so my attack and defense stay high and whatnot, and my HP). And when I start getting into higher difficulty, when my strength outstrips the difficulty, I do the thing where all hearts are money, and rake in a killing. Double exp and/or double money is also a nice thing. I don't bother buying the cosmetic stuff, or the bonuses that let you play as characters right from the start. I see no point in it.

My purchases look like they're going to be exactly what they were when I beat easy and played normal. carry over sword level, recovery amulets, status items, money, bubble, and double xp. Then I have 6.5k left over. Surely I can do better. This is why I have two copies of a save when I get to the Rudolph dungeon. Just in case I beat the game and don't like what I see. I want double caron. Doesn't look like I'm gonna get that on this next playthrough either.

Wow. Thanks guys. I'm excited to hear there is much more gameplay and replayability in this game than I thought. big_smile

Keep advancing in difficulty as you play. Higher difficulty will get you more points for sure, but be sure and carry over your stats if you don't want it to be too hard. This is one of those games that keeps giving back the more you put into it.

2019-04-06 16:07:04

I just listened to part of a playthrough where they kept buying amulets from the juhuhu merchant and eventually it played music like they got some kind of reward. Is there like a quest for buying him out or something? What is the reward they got? It's in japanese so I can't tell. Or does it just stop selling amulets when you have as many as there are save points without recovery on them?

2019-04-07 14:31:57

I wish there was a way after you've finished a run to know what items you missed and where they are. I just finished impossible and am missing one item somewhere and have no idea what. Are there any of those bonuses that continue to carry over once you buy them? Do any of them apply to all saves or are they always just for that particular save file?

Hi.
I'm a bit stuck in the game:
When I try to enter the king, I got a message saying that I need a friend from the temple. First I tried to switch to the other characters, which didn't helped. So I went to the temple, only to find out that there are no people to interact with. What to do?
Then I entered the water area, I got some instructions on how to swim. I'm not sure on how it works, and I can't seem to do it when I reach a water area.

Did you rescue rurae?

2019-04-08 07:41:02

I'm listening to a playthrough of what I guess is desperate mode. The guy needs 5000000 xp to level up his sword I think and he has 4000000 hp. Are these memory hacks or do the numbers really get that big through normal gameplay? I've just finished impossible, have a level 15 sword and have 100 of all 4 status items. My hp and skill points are 1060 each. I just finished off another save and bought the eternal hope upgrade and need 150000 xp to level it up. At the rate of what looks like 1 to 6 xp a kill, that's going to take a while, and that's just for level 16. Does it really go up to level 100? Unless metallic and desperate just give insanely huge amounts of xp, the idea of trying to level up seems almost too silly for words. What do you get for leveling up past 15? Are you really able to kill final form Rudolph on higher difficulties in 4 hits or less?

I don't remember what the characters are called, but I have rescued the jumping girl and Lilia, who have the running ability.

If you haven't rescued Rurai yet you can't swim. Sounds like you need to find Ren or Len or whatever her name is, and talk to her again.

2019-04-09 07:58:57

Okay thank you. I'll try. I'm not sure on what I messed up. I think I have talked to everyone in the city, and I get the explanation about how to swim, but didn't got an extra character. Time to search the whole city again, I think. smile

Well that'll just about do it I think unless more content is released or I've missed something. I'm pretty sure I've seen and done all there is in this game save for the minigames in the extras menu, which, meh. But I've played through from easy to desperate, played through the extra dungeon, done the afterstory, and seen what I think are 5 different endings between the two stories. This is probably not the most impressive data anyone has ever seen, but I figured I'd post the final results of my playthrough of desperate here for giggles. I tend to grind a bit for things like the 3000 monsters quest and having all my status items at the same number because reasons. Plus I tend to try and be grossly overleveled rather than woefully underleveled and caught with my pants down.

Hi.
I have finally spoken to the king, but I'm still stuck. I'm still not able to swim, and I have wandered around, spoken to all people I can find. Can someone give me any clear directions on where to go?
I'm not able to enter the wind forest yet.

I don't know how spoilery you want things but it sounds like you still have something yet to see before you're able to swim. Someone you have yet to meet up with. I don't remember what the story says at this point. I've played through it enough times to just know where I need to go from here but it seems like the king or Ren or someone would have said something about Rurai going into a cave to deal with a monster. That cave is your next stop.

I think it's out the west side of the city.

Hi:

Sorry for posting again, but I seem to be missing something vital with the dragon puzzle. I know it has something to do with the animal clock, but I can't figure it out. I found the dragon statues and managed to remove the western seal by pure luck, but I'not sure what to do. It's frustrating.

Thanks. I'll keep looking. I don't remember anything about a cave, but I might have missed it.

Thanks. I thought this puzzle was a lot more complex than it actually was. Now in the Forests  of Wind and another puzzle.

Hi:

So I've been going through the Shadow Rine menus, just out of curiosity, and I keep coming up to the language options. Every time I try to switch to ENglish, nothing happens apparently. So I have two questions. How much of the game is actually translated into English, and how do I enable it?

The menus and some of the chest messages, maybe some system messages.

Hay all shadowrine players.
I'm not sure if it would go in this topic or somewhere in general game discussion, but I'm stuck in the temple level and need some help.
I'm at the point where you have to go through the door of darkness then press the two switches to make light and darkness rize to the heavens.
I've pressed the left switch, but I have no idea how to even get to the right one.
Could anyone help me out?
Later!
