So I've seen a lot of game, like The Company, and Last stand of Ra., and recently, the new sl2 alpha, with vary similar builds.
I was wondering if there was an engine that these kinds of games were made in?
And if not, where could I learn how to make browser games like this?

Trimps is a very fun browser game.
I think bootstrap was used, along with hidden elements, not sure what else.

Yep, there are two command line compilers, Twee 2 (which requires ruby), and TweeGo.
