Hi all!
I am studying application development and we have a basic system administration class.
They want me to get Virtualbox with a linux distribution, and I was wondering which one I could get.
Virtualbox seems to be accessible, so this shouldn't be a problem.

I tried Ubuntu but I can't seem to get it to speak, I think the key was control+windows+s?
Anyone got a better idea?

Thanks!

Hi,
Alt+win+s should toggle orca.
It's also worth mentioning that the windows key is referred to as the "super" key on some Linux flavours such as Ubuntu.

oh apparently virtualbox is no longer accessible on windows. Good thing I was doing it on mac... So I'll stick to it I guess. Not sure if I tried alt windows s, meaning command option s, but I think I did, and that didn't start Orca. Hmm.

I had UbuntuMate installed along side my Windows system, and it works pretty well. I also use for my system administration class.

so, how do you get the installer to speak? Pop in the cd and press windows alt s?

Hi,
That's the general procedure.
Unless things have changed, you should hear a bongo type sound when the machine's finished booting into the installer, that's the time to try to start orcca.
