Hi.
I don't remember if there has been any previous discussions about this.
What are exactly the differences between Mixer and Twitch? I have watched streams on both planforms, mostly Twitch. I haven't streamed myself on any of those platforms yet. Mixer seems to be translated into more languages, and some parts seems easier to navigate. But it would be interesting to hear if any of you who are streaming knows more about those differences between those two platforms.

Best regards SLJ.

Yeah, that's true. I don't like Twitch, because iet has kinda a lot latency, atleast in my country

If you want to contact me, do not use the forum PM. I respond once a year or two, when I need to write a PM myself. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Twitch is the most popular right now, so if you want a chance at getting viewers, Twitch is the place to be although Mixer is good for things like Party Pack.

Thanks for your replies.
Are they equal regarding to accessibility and features?

They are not equal in either accessibility or features. Mixer is unfortunately more accessible than Twitch. I say unfortunately because Twitch is simply the place to be.

Basically Twitch doesn't give two craps about accessibility, notice how their chat thing got sort of accessible real quick though, but not any of the other parts of the site? CVAA laws coming into effect, that's literally the only reason I can fathom.

Hmm. I find the player accessible on Twitch as well, and I can navigate the website with some patience.
I'm sorry for all the questions, but:
Do you need to pay for Twitch to save your videos? I wander why so many people haven't saved any of their streams on their channels.
I wanna dive more into Twitch, but find it difficult to find much information about it on the Twitch page.

Yeah it can be done, I never claimed otherwise. One highly annoying thing is that after a certain point, the chat will autoread from top to bottom each time a new message comes in.

The free Twitch account keeps videos for only 3 days or so. You can get a premium plan if you want and keep them for longer, but most people end up just uploading their archives to YouTube, which Twitch can do automatically.

As far as comparing them, I can't do much else apart from agreeing with Orin. Mixer has some pretty cool features, like better accessibility and an ultra low latency mode which is nice for user interaction, but Twitch is where the audience's at. And also the terrible accessibility and user experience in general. Both the website and iOS app have major accessibility issues. The website has tons of unlabeled buttons and lags the browser a lot, even if the tab is minimized. Their login page also uses Aria incorrectly which results in screen readers not seeing the log in dialog at all, which is a bit of a major problem. The iOS app is even worse. It works just about enough that you can start a stream, but the watching experience is horrible. The chat is completely inaccessible, every message just shows up as a blank element and you might get a 10% chance VoiceOver will manage to OCR a chat once in a while. The video player is also completely invisible to VoiceOver, so once the player controls to go back, pause and adjust options disappear to get them back you have to turn VO off, tap roughly in the top middle of the screen, turn VO back on and hope you can press whatever button you want before it disappears again.

Wow. Thanks a lot @pitermach.
So, as I understand this. If I wanna stream something only for blind people for example, where accessibility is quite important, because those people I have in mind are not good at web navigation and have never seen a console before, then it will be best to use a direct link to a stream on Mixer? It's important that people can chat to ask questions etc.
It turns out that I might be the only blind Xbox gamer here in my country. So I'm having a big demonstration in mind. It would be a shame to do such demonstration, where the users give up because of bad accessibility on the platform.
