Hi.
I can update the TDV server on my server if people wanna play online. No offence Chriss. I won't try to take over your awesome job. I'll just do that if people are interested, and see if I can get it to work on my system.

Best regards SLJ.

SLJ, go for it! I encourage anyone else who can to host these as well. The more options we have, thebetter! As I said, I'm getting sick and tired of this port forwarding nonsense. If you manage to get the TDV server working properly, please let me know how you did it so I can create one. I'll take any solution as long as it doesn't involve disabling my firewall. That is a very very bad idea. If it's a bug in the program, it should be fixed.

If any moderators are reading this, you may want to include the server information in the database pages under the additional resources section. This should assist new users in connecting and avoiding the headaches I went through.

My server works, though. But as I said in my previous post, after I connected, a few seconds it says the server is unavailable. I don't mind hosting a server, because I have a yearly vps around.

I hope more people discover those servers. Nobody is in the rtr server at the moment. I am waiting for players to play.

hi chris. I have a vps with debian 9. I also was hosting some stuff before. I wouldn't require installing your self a firewall. I have no fw and it makes all go faster if i don't need to forward it, i can get almost everything up in minutes that way.

so since this thing don't accepts my homepage as webpage, i will posst it in here. Well here you have to note that it is not only my page.

I have no idea what you're talking about. As long as the server is a standalone console application, it should work. Tell me what port it uses.

so question, if a game doesn't have online built into it, and only has local 1v2 play, you server will not let us play the game online correct? if not, do you know any software that will allow us to do this

Smoothgunner, if you're wanting to play a game that has local 2-player capabilities but doesn't have actual online multiplayer features, you may be able to play it using teamviewer or another screen sharing software.  It would simulate your online friend being there with you, and they could theoretically interact with the game the same way you do.

It might work. Last I tried, Team Viewer had pretty bad lag when sharing audio. You may want to share your computer audio over something like Skype and then have your friend connect to you. That would let him/her play with you while being able to hear the sound in real time.

ok cris can you host games on your server that is not an audio game? this fighting game does have online, and it has the thing we are trying to avoid, where you have to put in each other ip addresses, we are trying to avoid that

What game is this? Does it have a standalone server application that's preferably command line based? I can't host games that require one person to actively host. That is impossible and isn't ideal. This setup is intended for games that connect to a server and let players create and join games managed by the server program. What port does it use?

By the way, I really! want a Crazy Party server program! If Mason can host a central server for SBYW and the program is coded in BGT, surely this can be done.

Check the manual for port information. What is this game? Where can I download it? I want to check it out.

here is the game, its a custom fighting game in its beginning stages. you can't use screen reader with it, if you want to go straight to a fight, just keep hitting the A key. my buddy is trying to find out if he can get online pvp support before he truly starts working on the game

I don't get this. I can't seem to find any documentation or server application, so it looks like I can't do anything with it.

Okay, so i have an update, and I'm such a dumbdumb! The TDV server is now running and I've edited the first post to reflect this. I was opening the wrong port. Everything is working.

I have also updated the Sound RTS server to 1.2c12 and it will be available in a few minutes from me writing this post.
