It is very accessible with talkback. The gameplay reminds me of the waste but a little less gritty and a little more witty. The link below is to the trial version, but you can unlock the full version for a little under 2 bucks, which will grant you all characters and support future development, which I was happy to do given the game's quality of writing and gameplay. Ok, here is the link and description.

Thanks for finding more Android stuff, it's really appreciated!

2019-01-06 21:06:32

just wondering, is this one of the android things that works on a kindle as well or is it blocked from those devices. Because if not I'm going to have to wait for IOS or not play it. I can't really side-load past the kindle Amazon (we have android but not really" thing they do.

Learn how to get the play Store on to your Fire Tablet, from:

, or ask the developer to "upload" it to the Amazon App Store.

@4 Not sure, but I will message the dev with a link to this thread and maybe he can answer.

In other news I think more talkback optimization is coming based on his response to a user review on the play store.

2019-01-07 19:59:43

Hello! Developer here. Thanks @1 for posting about Path of Adventure!

To answer @4, I doubt this game will work on an e-reader, at least: I never tested it. The good news is, I am planning an iOS port, which should be coming soon!

I'd like to add that I'm eager to improve the game for visually impaired people. As I am pretty new to this subject, I would appreciate your feedback. I will look at the issue with the icons for the stats as soon as possible. Please let me know if there is anything else.

When I try to test it on my Galaxy S6, I can't find Google TalkBack, only 'Voice Assistant'. Is that the same? And does pressing buttons work for you? Because it doesn't for me, but in other apps it does...

Goohgle has recently changed the name of the app to google accessibility suite, and talkback is part of the package you can get free from the playstore. I'll try the game with voice assistant and see if buttons don't work for me too. Also have you tried double tapping the buttons?

Very glad you stopped by.

Just tested it with voice assistant and still works fine but for the same talkback issue with icons. If double tapping isn't working it might be the phone. I remember my galaxy s5 being less responsive with games like these at least when talkback was on.

2019-01-08 18:29:56

Thanks @KenshiraTheTrinity for checking that out. I downloaded and tried Google talkback and had the same problem with the buttons. It seems like the buttons work, but their position is all messed up. When I tap "Inventory", it switches to "Character" and stuff like that. But, if I'm the only one with that problem, I'm going to ignore it for now and see if I can lay my hands on another device to test with.

As for the icons, I fixed it. It will be part of the next update, coming somewhere this week. If you'd like, you can see if it works on your system by trying the web demo, which is already updated. Play demo here: https://www.pathofadventure.com/demo

Thanks @queenslight for that list! That's going to be very useful indeed. I'm glad I could squeeze this fix into the update, but when the iOS version is done, I want to dive a bit deeper into this subject. There are some things I noticed that can be improved. Also, please let me know if you run into anything!

Cheers

Are there plans to expand the game in the future? I've beaten it on easy and normal and got bery close to beating it on hard. Some thimgs I'd like like to see in the future include an achievement system, a fillable monster database, maybe different endings depending on what final boss you get and maybe a little more lore on the land. A graveyard for fallen adventurers would be nice, though since we already have a high score system I don't mind its absence so much.

2019-01-09 08:26:07

Hi. maybe I'm doing something wrong or it's maybe my luck but I keep dying. I have gotten very close to finishing it on easy though. Any tips and tricks you've discovered to help like which stats are worth upgrading when you drink the levelup potion?

Thanks.

@15 I try to always keep a couple weapons and a shield on hand. Killing a monster in 1 shot will result in no xp because the fight is too easy. Increasing your speed will up accuracy but the other stats are equally important. Remember you don't need to use a pot of growth right away, so saving for an opportune time may help. I always try to finish wraiths with nearly broken weapons or bare hands if i can help it, and use all advantageous consumables on hand in the right order before the last battle.
Hth.

I wonder if it could be made so that your total score at the end could be based on your treasure on hand plus the total worth of your posessions, unless their worth is something that changes over time during the course of the game.

2019-01-09 18:10:27

@KenshiraTheTrinity, my plans for the game are as follows: first, an iOS version; I have started on that today. Then, I want to add more variety to the game. More events, enemies, items, that sort of thing. I feel the game is still a bit too repetitive. I like your ideas; I put them on the list! About the score, that might be a good idea, indeed. The idea of the current system is that you sell everything at the last merchant that you expect don't need in the castle. For example, I've heard from a player that always sells his Ring of Life, because it doesn't work in the castle anyway.

@darkblade 98, You already got some great tips from KenshiraTheTrinity. I want to add one more: as a Rogue, don't be too scared to take a few hits. That way you save your shield for a later time, and the Ring of Life can heal you. Also, the stat that you want to develop mostly, is based on which end boss is waiting for you at the castle.

I was lucky to get the hydra the 3 times I beat it and knew what to train up. Once that new update comes in on the main version things will become more clearer.

I really appreciate devs who can acknowledge the shortcomings of their own projects and improve upon them. The suggestions mentioned here should increase the replay and lasting value significantly. Once the ios version goes live that should open the door for more players to provide more input. Keep up the awesome work. smile

Thanks @19; I really appreciate all the feedback smile

This morning I had a shot at improving the way certain values for stats are read by talkback. So for example, it would say "attack: 3 up to 5", instead of "attack: 3 minus 5". Unfortunately, that proved to be quite a hassle. I think it can be done, but it would take some more time, so I'm going to leave that for now.

hello, this is the guy who hasn't played yet so keep that in mind. But perhaps both new final boss monsters and/or new characters. This doesn't need to be anything pressing immediately, just something cool that could come up later in development.

2019-01-10 16:45:14

If anyone wants to give the demo a spin but doesn't have an android divice, I believe the demo will run on browsers. I recommend checking it out for a taste of things to come.

2019-01-10 18:29:31

@21, thanks for the suggestion! That would be cool indeed, to have a wider variation of bosses.

@22, that's right, the demo runs in any (modern) browser - although I would recommend Chrome or Firefox. Just in case, here's the link to the demo again: https://www.pathofadventure.com/demo/

I just released the update for Android, should be available soon!

Hi Keeweed,

I am already quite eager to have this game on the iOS market. Good thing that you have a browser demo available to test it.
I definitely will buy this one when it comes out for the infamous apple stuff.

Even though at least the demo feels heavily unfair when you have some bad rng. This is a very oldschool approach to game design. Normally not my cup of tea but for a couple bucks its probably worth my while. The demo was fun enough at least.

Wish you the best of luck for your android updates and the iOS port. Hope to hear from you really soon.

Update works great! The info is completely readable now. Thanks loads!
