Hello.

I have been using the xBox app for Windows to stream the xBox so that I can use the OCR function on my screen reader. However when I went to stream my xBox the app would not connect to my system.
I tried to forget my system then reconnect but it keeps asking for the IP address. I put in the IP address that is on my console but it still will not connect.
How can I fix this?

Hi.
So you are saying it have worked for you, but suddenly it has stopped working?
1. Check your windows firewall and other firewalls you might have installed.
2. Are your XBox and computer on the same network?

Best regards SLJ.

I have done all of that.

I still can't get it to work.

Try and disconnect your console from the internet then reconnect. I really don't see what your issue could be. If you are connected on the same network as your computer, you should have no problem streaming.

Hi.
Have it worked previously? Have you got a new router?

hopefully they will resolve the issue.

I got the app fix. I had to mess around with my network.

@darren: yes. You can stream the Xbox screen to your computer, connect a controller to your computer and play.
@cyco: I'm glad you got it fixed. What was the issue?

what so you still need the console?

2019-01-07 18:56:30

Yes. You are only streaming from your console via the local network to your computer. Then, you watch and hear what's happening on the Xbox on your computer, and you can connect the controller directly to the computer to play.

but why would anybody do that i mean what advantage does it serve streaming the games to the pc why not just play straight from the console

1. You can do OCR on the computer to read the menus in games.
2. You can record or stream to other sources on the computer. You can also stream and record directly from the console, but you have more choices with the computer.
3. If you are living with others in the house, you can play on your console on your computer, while others are watching tv.
