Politicians suffer Dark eagle? Since when, the only thing politicians risk suffering is not being elected, which means going home to retire with their huge somes of money, or take up even higher paid work for other political bodies the once prime minister of the labour party, the so called left wing socialist party that is supposed to be for workers rights, is now a multi millionaire with houses in three different countries and a yearly sallary of over a million, and even when he was! in politics in the Uk he still used governmental expenses to pay for various home repairs and sent his kids to an expensive private school. Then again, in Britain at least, even if a politician sets out with good intentions they end up just playing the parliamentary cricket match and voting according to what gives their particular team most leaverage, rather than what is actually dictated by whatever principles they were presumably illected to represent.
the only people more crooked than politicians are business owners and financiers, and generally speaking the more money have, the more crooked they are.
If global warming does! happen, you can bet all the rich bastards will construct some huge conditioned, air tight city where they'll live out their days in comfort while they buy and sell the rest of the world between them.
personally I think the French revolution had it right, what most of these scumbags need is a short sharp appointment with madame guillotine .
Anyway, good luck with the algorithms. Since I preferred ethics, aesthetics and phenomenology at uni, formal logic was the only heavily formula or tree diagram based module I did, since I didn't go heavily into advanced logic or linguistics, and of course most of my post grad work has been in ethics, (that little county in the south of England near to Suthex .
Btw, sorry if you don't get this joke. There is a county in England called Essex, which is very close to another county in the south of England called Sussex, so a common joke at uni was to say "I'm working in Ethics" .
Anyway my lady and I are off to London for a singing weekend. It should bee fun if hard work, I'm taking gethsemane from Jesus christ superstar, as well as the lamp lighter from the little prince opera, and (just for fun), no rhyme for Richard, which is a from the musical Blondel about how prince john (the evil one from the Robin Hood story), is trying to persuade blondel, the court poet to write a ballad about him, prince John, because nothing rhymes with richard and everything rhymes with John .
since the other two are moderately serious (well Gethsemane obviously), I thought I'd take something fun.
We're also going to be doing stage combat which should be interesting.
At the end of the weekend, my lady and I are going to see the musical Wicked on Monday, the one based on the wizard of oz, its one of her absolute favourites and should be awesome, albeit annoyingly since we couldn't get to stay in London Monday night, be coming back from London on an eleven pm train Monday evening which will be quite nuts!
needless to say this also means I'll be off the forum for a while.
With our dreaming and singing, Ceaseless and sorrowless we! The glory about us clinging Of the glorious futures we see,
Our souls with high music ringing; O men! It must ever be
That we dwell in our dreaming and singing, A little apart from ye. (Arthur O'Shaughnessy 1873.)
