hi. I just got my website up, but it says when I click the webftp link that the site is unable to handle the request. can someone help me?
I'd use win SCP rather than filezilla, though the latter isn't a bad option, its just that win scp comes with inlnie editors and can link to external ones such as notepad++ for editing files on the fly and pushing the changes directly.
i'd recommand using win scp 2, its a cool one
ok I have decided to use filezilla for now, just cause, but if it doesn't work I wil try something else. my questions are. what do I enter in the boxes.
this is the information jc-hosting send me
username: nottelling111
password:secret432
hostname: rorygames
ftp ports: secret
so what do i put in the boxes? thanks for the help!
in the first you'd put the host, then username, password, and port which is 22
there is no username box, there is hostname or ip address, password and port
i believe your username should be like this, [email protected] or if that didn't work, example@your website's address.jc-hosting.me
From what I remember, when you open WinSCP, the first box where you can enter the the IP or the web address you want to connect to. For example, the web address should be "example.com" or if it's an IP address, it should be like this: 123.45.678.010, something like that. After that, tab once, you should be land on a box that allows you to enter the port number. the default is "22" then, one more tab should puts you on a box which allows to enter your username. When you're done typing your username, tab one more, this is the last box which will allows you to enter your password. When you've done all the things I've mentioned, just press enter to connect to your server.
Hope that helps.
i'd recommend win scp too it more accessible than file zila client
also they have many options for customizable
