This was apparently released very recently. Figured I'd toss it up in the new releases section for people to check out.

Dusk is an all-new gaming experience, designed for the blind but playable by everyone.
Use your phone in ways you've never imagined and challenge yourself with a series of mini-games that do not require the use of sight, or play with a friend to find out who's the best!

- Each game uses a combination of movement sensors, vibration, sound and other technologies for a totally immersive experience.
- Full leaderboards and achievements support for singleplayer games.
- Play your favorite games with a friend and another iPhone, thanks to the multiplayer mode.
- Fully compatible with VoiceOver.
- Simple and minimalist high-contrast design to improve legibility.

(Please note that some games might not be available on older devices due to technical limitations.)

You can grab it at.

Kinda neat, wish there were some more involved games though. Still, nice to see people using the phone in that way.

I wish there were too, but this is a pretty awesome start. Also you can't beat free.

There's also blackbox, that one is very challenging in deed. I haven't tried dusk yet but I'm going to do that as soon as I can, it sounds interesting.

Dusk is very simple, but I see a lot of potential in it.

It does lead me to wonder if I am missing any of the games. The description said you might if you were on older hardware, I'm on a 7 so not really old, but I don't know what sensors the 8 and the X have that the 7 doesn't. I have safe opener, ping pong, flag (which I suck at), tap tap, and bubble. Safe opener and flag are my two worst games because sometimes with safe opener, the vibration for the right position isn't all that much obvious from the others, then again, sometimes it really stands out. Flag I just... yeah poor orientation skills. Bubble is fun but I didn't really understand it at first, but once I figured out what you were supposed to do, yeah Also, bubble has a really poor description before you start. Ping pong is interesting, though sometimes I think it gives me points even when to me, it feels like I flubbed it. Tap tap is interesting, I think you can tap too fast and it registers as one tap, because I'm fairly sure I was counting accurately. The best I managed on that was like 22 taps at 4.2 taps per second.

This looks cool! Haven't tried it yet but I like this sort of stuff.
Also mastodont, what is blackbox? Never heard of it.

if anyone has a email address for the dev what is it since I can't use facebook?

I really like that this game has come to iPhone, but my one issue is, this is basically a carbon copy of 1-2 Switch. Most of the games are from that game, and use the same controls. I really like that it's free though, as no one can complain about free things. I could probably, if more games were added, pay 99 cents for this.

And that's why I like it. I always wanted to play 1-2-Switch, but couldn't justify the purchase. I hope he adds more games. I'd pay for upgrades.

if the dev seriously made an eating game just for laughs I would pay $5 for that alone.

I want the box game and the phone game. Don't think the box game is possible with the haptics though.

I do wish this was available for android as well. At the moment, that's the only mobile device I have available to me

As to black box, check the db. I do enjoy black box, but I confess some of the puzzles have me reaching for the hint cards a wee bit too often, especially when the hints aren't that helpful, or are pictorial, I also sometimes worry I might do something bad if I mess with my phone too much.

I'm not sure what one two switch is, but I do like  dusk though I admit I wish instructions were improved or you could have a little more information.

Tap tap is rather fun, my best so far is 20 taps at 3.1 per second but we'll see.

ping pong is a little disappointing, since I was hoping it was more a serious pong game with sterrio targeting rather than rhythm action, still its fun to use my phone like a tennis racket.

Bubble I really rather like, once I worked out to stop when I found the vibration and tap to burst, its not original but its a fun execution and I always enjoy haptic games.
Flag I like the principle, but basically it seems I am okay until I'm asked a compass direction. Even when I spin round it never seems to pick up the cumpas correctly. The game should have a cumpass test setting to let you know what direction is where (I tried using the Iphone compass but it didn't seem to help).

Safe opener I don't get at all, you seem to need to turn the phone vertically to get vibrations, however literally every centimetre I turn the phone I get a click, holding it does no good, I just turn and it goes click click click, indeed the game hasn't even finished on me. Oh, and I've got an Iphone 8 so there are no compatibility issues.

I would be willing to pay for more games myself, but I'd prefer to see improvements in those we have, EG a more efficient cumpass testing for flag and some actually helpful instructions for safe opener, indeed instructions for all the games could be improved for sake of clarity, particularly if the idea is to appeal to sighted gamers with haptic or audio based games.

Safe opener what you do is literally rotate the phone slowly and feel every vibration until you get to one that is more intense than the others, when you do, either hold the phone there, or go back to it if you went past it and do the same until it clicks that tumbler. Flag is just meh imo. Pong, I agree, its fun for a few minutes, but I wish it was more serious. The instructions for bubble are ridiculously vague, but I eventaually figured out what you were supposed to do.

Blackbox is another matter entirely, I just do not get it, at... all. Nothing makes any sense, and I don't see the logic in anything about that game. Its supposed to be puzzles? But puzzles you think your way through, this, its like a list of nonsequitors you're meant to string together into a plausible sentence. There is no rhyme or reason for the way things are. One time, I was sort of swinging my phone around, because I was hearing a tone, and I tried to do like precise movements and stuff to no avail, and then I dropped it and by doing so, solved the puzzle, so... yeah.

With black box, its often that you need to think in a weird way, and think about other things your phone can do.
For example, one puzzle had the clue 37 green balls, I then looked a little later and it was 36, by accident my finger hit the battery indicator which was at 36 percent and I realized what the balls were, so all I needed to do to solve one puzzle was have the phone fully charged, and for another just let the phone run out of charge big_smile.

With flag I'm not sure if it was "memorisation" since the cumpass I just couldn't get to work properly, whichever way I turned the phone I got an error sound. The basic directions, left right up down were fine, but as soon as it asked me north south east or west it went wrong, this is why it would be good to have an indicator of where the game wants you to point the phone, since even when I got the Iphone cumpass itself up it didn't seem to work out.

I'll give safe opener another try.

But that's what I mean, they expect you to think abstractly, but they just throw it at you, and the hints are not helpful. How can you think out of the box when they give you nothing to go on. also I wouldn't let my phone run out of charge for a game lol. To keep a healthy battery for as long as possible, its recommended to keep it charged between 20 and 80 percent. I am leasing my phone, but plan to pay it off when the lease ends and keep it. I don't really need an iPhone 8 or X, but keeping it means I've got to try to make the battery last as long as possible.

The game is just weird, we'll just put you on this screen and hey, do weird shit with your phone and see what we do. I bet some moron already has baked it in an oven or something trying to complete a puzzle.
