The Wii sounds were actually recorded by Andre Louis with a patch cable.

Thanks for the heads-up about the ay files! What plugin do I get for winamp that plays them then.
And the reason the continue button may or may not work is because somewhere there's a feisty checkbox that says you will agree to our terms! That doesn't like you. I created login details for just my local interface, I don't believe it created me a sync account. I also put in [email protected] for my email address when they required me to sign up to their newsletter to continue.

I don't know. I wasn't able to get the saa ay files to work with either gep or zx tune, which is ironic since ay emul and zx tune are their recommendations. I'm guessing gep and zxtune need to be playing some catch up to get saa 1099 support.

Also, this thing needs more connected seeders. So far it's only showing that it's about 6 gigs, but there's only one connected peer at the moment, everyone else is offline.

most of the archive consists of really small files each spanning less than a few kb. most of the big stuff is the streamed audio formats.
also, would anyone be interested in having a famitracker modules folder?

@stirlock:
Where you are seeing the size of the folder, that's actually how much you've received so far. In all, the folder is about 25 gigs.

So I've noticed a few missing things. Currenly there doesn't seem to be any kss files, was surprised about this, also please bring back the 2sf archive.

Take care, it's a desert out there.

and what about psf, psf2, ssf, dsf and qsf. you have all these plugins for those, and nothing in those formats. qsf I can understand as it never really took off, and gym was superseeded by vgm, but no excuse for the others, especially psf, gsf and psf2, and usf.

We decided to remove the 2sf archive because it was incredibly large, over 20 gb, and we generally don't want to mirror full archives unless they're a reasonable size. Modland's archive is decent but hasn't been touched since 2010, and DS games have probably been made since then, though it could probably be added if there is enough interest. Nintendo 64 music has been added.

I have plenty of hd space, so that doesn't bother me, I prefer having complete collections of things regardless of disc space. Memory is dirt cheap.

Take care, it's a desert out there.

also add sgc archive. sgc is basicly the sega equivalent of nsf, litterally (kevin horton is the creator of both formats). I actually had the entire sgc archive once, and it was only about 2mb, smaller than the nsf archive, and doesn't come even close to the sise of aygor (the ay archive). also, you should add project ay, since it may have a fiew games not in aygor.
another thing you could add is a trackers folder, like what modland has. so far the most accessible one is fami tracker (and by extention 0ccft and sneventracker), though from personal experience raster music tracker comes close, followed by the mac version (and only the mac version) of ghoattracker.
is there a way to get stuff added to the archive? because I want to add a fiew audio files from systems that don't have an nsf or vgm like format (atari jaguar, tiger game.com...)

Hi.
@americandadd2005: If you don't mind me asking, how are you able to use FamiTracker accessibly?

2018-08-08 15:35:12

I probably would pass on adding famitracker modules as their own thing because I think that they should be playable by media players, I know I wouldn't want to keep opening and closing a tracker window just to listen to songs, and the play commands in ft aren't all that straightforward. If there is a way to play ftm in media players of foobar2000 or winamp correct me. And going by adding things you can send us links for material to be submitted, or you can get in contact with one of us to give you the full access key, though contact should be made before adding anything for size and relevance and other such applications. Re sgc though, I think that would work, since we have vgm stuff for both the game gear and the master system which is what it dumped, but duplicates may be an issue and we would have to pick a format.

I see your point there. btw, the zx tune plug in can play tfm music maker modules (.tfe/.tfd).
also, you might want to remove the saa1099 ay files until ferther notice, since there are no players that can play them ATM (winamp maybe but I haven't tested it and I highly doubt it). they should probably be replaced with .cop files, which can be played in zxtune.

for whoever requested the KSS music collection, it has been added in the latest change update, however most of it is probably already present in vgm>msx. That was a strange and incomplete torrent full of zip files from somewhere I got ages ago so... Probably good we have this one too. KSS Files should be played using winamp, there's an in_msx including drivers plugin available in the modland winamp input plugins directory which I will link to in the first post.

it has come to my attention thanks to Slender that having the v2m plugin configured to use sampling rate 48000 can introduce bad artifacts. I have corrected the preconf, but if you could just all head to foobar prefs>playback>decoding>v2m input and change the sampling rate to 44100 and hit okay, that'd be nice. Thanks. We actually have that stuff.

Specifically, the problem lies in the reverb and echo effects. The v2m plugin does not resample them very well when the sample rate is changed. It's also the sample rate used by the original Winamp plugin as far as I can tell.
