Boy I remember Sonic the Hedgehog!  Those were great times as a kid.

Oh... I may have misread.  No I haven't looked into that.  It's counter productive at times, but I don't like using code written by others when I can help it.  *Aprone shrugs*

Hi.
A friend of mine would like to know if it's possible to change the right mouse button to a key on the keyboard to walk forward? We can't find it in the key config file.
I remember someone wrote about it very long time ago, but I don't remember if there were any solution.

Best regards SLJ.

I think there is? Look in keyconfig, ctrl+f "mouse"?

it's like mouse one or 2, just change it to w or something

I’ve changed my key config file to use nothing but keys on the keyboard as I don’t really like using the mouse all that much.

Could you post a link to that? Me wants.

Aprone, is something wrong with your server? When I attempt to download the Swamp file, the download gets to 480 MB and stops. If I hit the reload button, it starts from the beginning.

Hey guys, pokeboss here. I'm totally freeking out. Let me see if I can explain this. Ok, so, I download the 648 megabite zip file and the patch. I unzip the game, then put the patch files in the swamp folder. I run it, and everything is normal. I here music and everything. I go to custome maps and try to select a map by pressing enter. The activation sound plays, but no menu. I press alt tab to go to a different window, then switch back, lo and be hold, the menu with the list of maps is there. I go to launch, and something is rong. I here the music, no ambience or nothing. I draw a weapon and the sound for that weapon drawing is played. I try to shoot or reload, nothing. I press alt tab to switch, and for half a second I here ambience, and zombies running, and then nothing. Every time I switch from swamp, I here that half second of sound, and it cuts off. Guys, please please help. I've tried every setting in the main menu, nothing. It's not a problem with nvda. I really need help. Thanks!

I feel like someone reported this sort of problem not too long ago, and someone on here knew how to solve it.  I've skimmed back through the past few pages but can't find what I'm thinking of.

is in post 2464, slj answered librobo's problem. it was the same
it says:
Try to adjust your screen revolution to see if that solves the issue. I have seen the most weird behaviors in Swamp if the screen revolution is not set right.

Hi.
Oh, I feel stupid regarding the keyconfig file. I don't know how I managed to miss that a few times. Lol.
Regarding the screen resolution: I'm not sure if that fixes the sound issue, but you might give it a try, since it can solve a lot of weird issues in Swamp. I wander what makes Swamp act weird if the screen resolution is not set right.

Best regards SLJ.

what should the screen resolution be and where can I go to change it?  What happens if I have it to low?

2018-04-30 08:49:28

hi guys. I would check back and practice a bit in swamp, and the first time it worked normaly. But now i'm getting a runtime error 52 message, bad filename or number. I ran checkup exe and the windows 32/64 bit bats, unpacked swamp again, restarted my comp, copyed the files manually in c:windows/sysvov64, ran the swamp exe as an administrator, changed my sapi to the default windows sound the microsoft anna, tried to start it without screenreader... Any ideas what can i do with it?

When it comes to screen resolution, I've personally never had the game act strange no matter what resolution I used.  It's programmed to adjust to fit however it is set.  The only times I had trouble were when some separate program was "faking" the screen resolution.  An example is when I once had 2 monitors set up which were each running with different resolutions.  Windows was telling Swamp the resolution for the wrong screen, which caused issues.  The other example is a time I was using screen recording software which is able to fake the screen resolution to produce a video the way you want it.  Apparently the method it uses to fake the screen resolution caused Swamp to believe that was the correct one, and errors resulted.  Those are the only times I've ever found screen resolution to cause problems in Swamp, personally anyway.

Dzsoker, if you have the file progress.ini in your Swamp folder, delete that and run the game again.  If that doesn't work, or you don't have the file, I would be tempted to check and see if your anti virus marked the newly downloaded patch as "untrusted" and is blocking it from reading other files.  I've had that happen to me and to a few other Swamp players.

I'm having trouble centering the sounds in my headphones, especially in front/behind. Either my headphones suck, or I'm going deaf, or some third thing.

Silly Gohan, animals don't eat people. People eat animals.

Just to add some more information to the resolution issue, my screen resolution was 2560 by 1600 when Swamp was having problems. That's the resolution that Windows recommended when I installed it on my MacBook. Changing it to the standard 1920 by 1080 fixed all of the issues I was having.

If a helicopter falls in the field and no one's around, it doesn't make a sound.

Hi.
Regarding to the screen resolution: I think it's a combination by using a screenreader, especially Jaws, and Swamp. When you install Jaws and most other screenreaders accept for NVDA, it installs a video intercept driver, which is a sepret graphic driver, and it changes some settings as well. I'm not totally sure on if NVDA does something like that or not, but I don't think so.

Best regards SLJ.

That might explain why I've never had those resolution problems myself.  I don't have any screen readers installed on my machines.

Greetings to all. I don't know if this is the place to put this, but I am writing a swamp campaine that deals heavily with timed events and the like. There is a bit of code I am trying to work out, but am unable to get it to work properly. I welcome anyone that is learnid in this if you wish to take a look at it. Here is the download link.

Thanks much,

NVDA does not do this. Only jaws uses a mirror display driver. Or, it did the last time I used it, which was 9 or so years ago. They' might've changed how it handles things now.
