Hi guys, I'm trying to set up a rtr server, but I need a sort of guyde to learn how to do this, can someone write a guyd for that thaniks in advanst.
Just read therelease notes file or whatever its called in the latest version. If you've done that and need help with port forwarding, look it up, there's plenty of info around the internet that can help with that. Other than that the main info in the release notes file of the game was pretty straight forward imo.
I wrote up a much better readme and config template.
If you delete the (server) sub folder in your RTR Ultimate directory and then download and unzip this file their than you should have an easier time of things.
You'll still almost certainly need to forward a port and maybe set up a static local IP, which is a bit of a learning curve if you haven't done it before and isn't even possible on some routers if your blind, but Google and a sited person or recognition app can help you out allot with finding your router's model and from their it's easy enough to find the default username and password online or contact your ISP for their custom one as needed.
Hi.
If you are serious regarding to a game server, you need to know how to forward ports etc. Otherwise you won't get very far.
@SLJ
I use the port forwarder by dark flier and I opened the port that I want but I don't kno wich IP I must conekt edsetera

Okay, let me explain more clearly what you need to learn before you are able to set up a gaming server:
1. What is a router and generally how it works.
2. The difference between an internal and external IP address.
3. Learn how to forward ports in your router instead of rely on a port forwarder application. If you learn yourself how to do it, you know what's going on and you can bugfix what's wrong when you aren't able to connect.
4. Learn how to configure Windows firewall or other firewall you're running on your computer, or simply turn it off to make sure it isn't blocking anything. Some people say it isn't safe, but it is safe if you know what you are doing.
You say you don't know what IP address to connect to. The answer is simple: Connect to your external IP address. But that requires a strait connection with the required ports opened.
You can test if your server is working on your internal network by connecting to your local host, which is: 127.0.0.1
So as you can see, there is a lot to learn before you are able to set up your own gaming server. The question is: Are you willing to learn what's required to set up a gaming server?
Great. What do you exactly need more help with? Then I'll do my best to explain how it works.
Wayt, I have an other idea, If you want to host my server please because ower router can mayby hacked.
I can't currently host a server of the game because of some issues with my server. Everything can be hacked...
ok no problem I kno all I want to kno
Awesome. Then I look forward to see your server in action. I wish you good luck.
