Hello,
I am very new to designing audiogames. I decided to learn BGT as it seems to be the simplest way to get into this sort of thing.
Now I am fairly confident that this is indeed something that I want to pursue, I need to find good sources of free sound effects and music. It is for this reason that I am asking you knowledgeable audiogame designers and players to assist me in this.
I would be grateful of any advice and guidance.
I generally try Freesound.org first. There are some pay-per-sound sites that are kinda cheap (not best deal cheap, but if you only need two or three rather than a whole library, it might be worthwhile.)
Sonnis.com occasionally does giveaways and contests. They gave out a 10GB collection a while back, which is kinda hard to share without torrents.
There are occasionally public domain or creative commons sounds / music / sfx libraries out there. Generally the best will be creative commons (attribution 3.0), which means you need to credit the creator of the sounds, but can otherwise do whatever you want with it. If you can't find something on sights like freesound or soundbible, I'd suggest searching for "creative commons sounds" or "creative commons music".
(There are plenty of public domain sounds out there, but most of those I've come across are pretty hard to use in games.)
I've heard of freesound.org before, but what particular websites can you recommend for various genres of music that would be suitable for an audiogame?

Maybe look at Varazuvi.com? Most of their stuff is commercial, but they have a selection of CC3 tracks.
I remember finding a site with a seemingly endless collection of CC music (to the extent it was cumbersome to search), but I don't remember where it was. (It might have been creativecommons.org , for all I remember.)

I usually google a sound that I need, like "shotgun*.wav"
I found many sounds on sound effect CD's but you can also buy one sound that you need for $0.99 USD
I got a fifteen CD set from Amazon.
