A pair of entirely contrasting updates tonight, two things that are as different as one thing that is very different from some other thing which is in it's turn completely different from the first thing which is different from it in a variety of different ways. Clear?

well, our first update is news from the wild wrip roaring world of rail racer, che martin's fantastic futuristic audio racing game. Version 1.4 is now out of the garage, on the track and waiting to zoom streight into your Pc.

the new patch inccludes several bug fixes, as well as the ability to buy a 10 second nitro burn to use strategically throughout a race, a couple of additional chatting features, the ability to check your jump hights after the jump itself, and some extra forceful nastiness for force fields as though they're not already bad enough!

At a total contrast to Rail racer, though no less welcome, is news from the calm, puzle solving, story creating, adventure investigating world of interactive fiction. the google news group for Interactive fiction is holding the 13th anual competition for text adventure games. Authors have submitted their carefully crafted offerings to an auspicious panel of judges who's votes will determine who gets the prestiege and prizes. And who are these judges? None other than thee, me, aned everyone else who casts their vote on the games! with Scifi, adventure and Surreal writing, on a variety of platforms, the competition should have something for everyone! So Go here to step into the judge's box to show your skills as an I.f, crytic, and have some good fun in the process.
