Hey! I gotta try that for myself!
url=http://www.kitchensinc.net
Hi James.
coppying and pasting the links is fine, ---- to be honest I'm usually too lazy to use Bb code to get a nicely created link, sinse if people are reading my post they'll know what I'm linking to.
If you wish to create a link in BB code do the following (I'll write this in words so it's good for your screen reader, but obviously you have to use the punctuation):
left brackit url equals http://www.kitchensinc.net right brackit the Kitchinsinc website, left brackit slash url right brackit.
(no spaces accept in the link text, and even then no spaces next to the brackits).
do that and you end up with the kitchinsinc site
hth.
having a brief look at the smilies tab Andy, I believe smilies are disabled in this forum, which I don't particularly mind (having Hal say "confused" "Raz" or "happy" in the middle of people's posts can be slightly disconcerting anyway).
I personally rarely if ever use Smilies, even on boards that enable them.
A litle common net speak expressions such as lol, (laughts out loud), Rofl (roles on floor laughing), or semi colon d for grin is okay as well, provided that people can pick up from the context what your going on about, and you don't write posts like:
"Er yeah, rofl rofl" which can be irritating, and not exactly helpful to people unfamiliar with such expressions.
As Andy's post demonstrates smilies are enabled, and indeed have useful alt text on here such as...
and my personal favourite
Strange Cx2, all I'm getting with Hal on this forum is punctuation listings, where as on other forums I get very definite smily descriptions as I said earlier. This is why I thought they were disabled.
I'll have to check this one myself.
It *may* be disabled in your settings on the forum, not sure if there is an option for this.
Nah, it is probably smilies being disabled in your forum settings. I don't think Hal will react differently to alt tags than JFW.
Hmm perhaps the alt tags should be applied to the smilie list? Otherwise just try them in this topic and see what they come out as.
Lets see if I can try making my link a text words link. click heare for the pcs games website
