Hi,
I am not blind but I own a copy. GTA SA is not
an accessible game! However, parts of it are playable by a blind gamer. GTA
SA, like the others in the series, consists of a huge interactive world
through which you can walk, use weapons, drive vehicles, etc. Although the
game's story is pretty linear, you can spend hours and hours doing what you
want. Most of the interaction is very simple, for instance, getting into a
car simply consists of standing somewhere near a car and pressing enter. You
character will then find the nearest car and off you go. I have heard of
many blind players playing GTA games, usually with a trainer which provides
unlimited ammo and health, etc. However, playing the real game (the
storyline) is near impossible, since it requires sight. Toying around,
crashing into other cars, spreading havok and making a mess is possible
without sight. Still, you'll need some time to learn all the cues (like car
horn indicating that you stand near a car in the middle of the street -
press enter to hijack it).
So, the game is *NOT* accessible, but it has a
certain (very limited!) amount of playability for the blind gamer. I've
completed the game just last week, after several months of playing. The
later levels tend to be quite hard to finish, even with sight
Greets,
Richard
