hi,
so finally,
I just got to the nat>virtual server thing, and I need some help.
I know that you need to forward the ports to your machine like if my local ip address is 192.168.1.2 I need to forward port 5555 to 192.168.1.2
but, it is not working
like, here is an example:
first, I'll choose custom server. then i tipe 192.168.1.2 into the ip box.
then, I give it a name like CoffeeMud
then, I tipe 5555 in all the port boxes and 192.168.1.2 into the remote ip box.
am I doing it rite?

not sure what you're talking about, dhruv.

He picked up the wrench and broke the guy’s wrist with it, one, and then the other wrist, two, and turned back and did the same to the guy who had held the hammer, three, four. The two men were somebody’s weapons, consciously deployed, and no soldier left an enemy’s abandoned ordnance on the field in working order.

Are you sure that port 5555 is the one the mud server is set to use?  Also make sure your windows firewall is set to allow that server program to access the internet.  Sometimes programs will be automatically blocked if they appear to be accepting outside connections.

I added acceptions into the firewall and I am sure port 5555 is what I want
@sid: we are talking about port forwarding.

Are you sure your hosting computer is using address 192.168.1.2?  Ending with just 2 is possible, but usually the ending number would be something 100 or higher.  I'm wondering if you used the router's local ip address by mistake, instead of the one for the actual computer running the Mud's server software.

hello,
I think I used the router's local ip. so, how I can get the computer ip?

On the computer, go to your network section which is usually under control panel.  Select your network and pick details.  The ip number for the computer will be listed under IPv4 Address, and it will be identical to your router's local ip except for the last number.

um, there's not anything like "IPV4"...
I tryed ipconfig /all, ipconfig, netstat -n... but only that shows is "192.168.1.2"!

Odd.  When I run IPconfig it shows my IPv4 address.  I typed only ipconfig, and the exact line says IPv4 Address: 192.168.1.100
