Anyone know what the most accessible software for DVD and blueray to video conversion is? Something that allows you to actually choose what you want for your rip; tracks, subtitles, etc? Taking about windows. thanks!

I use Magic DVD Ripper. Don't know if it'll do everything you need, but in the version I use, v6.1, all the menus and stuff are accessible. You just need to OCR to find the start button after you choose all your options.

lol... well, apparently version 7 isn't as accessible. I can do everything except choose my destination, and it won't start without that. Anyone have any other thoughts?

I have the 6.1 installer, but you'd need a serial.

Long as I got the trial version... I don't rip very often, just want to rip a movie in a friend in a different country as it isn't on their netflix.

Well, the interface isn't any different, apparently. How the heck am I supposed to choose the output destination? Nothing seems to work... I'm baffled and would be open to other software suggestions as well.

Oh I see the problem. I'm using jaws. I just checked it with NVDA and it doesn't seem as accessible. It's very unusual for NVDA not to work with something if jaws does, but there must be some fundamental difference because Jaws is announcing stuff as you tab around, and the file destination has a browser button that you can find and click with the jaws cursor, but I don't know how to do it with NVDA, and hardly anything is being announced , so you have no idea what's what.

There's a program called DVD decrypter that I used to use. I still have the installer for that too. It's accessible, but I can't remember what it can do in terms of menus and stuff. It's been a long time since I used it. I think it might have been good for getting the commentary tracks or something like that. . It's one of those programs that isn't super intuitive, but not ridiculous either. The version I have is 3.5.

Although it is a bit of a longer process, I've found the best way to be rip everything with makemkv, then convert down to what you want with handbrake.

Prier practice and preparation prevents piss poor performance!
