Wait, how can you like the update if you haven't downloaded it? If you already have the game, you can just run it, it'll download a zip for you. Extract that zip somewhere and copy over your scores.dat if you want to and play. Probably be best to delete the old one.

I really like the stats, I was thinking this would be an excellent feature to add. I have to admit that the items spawning less often does make it more challenging, but definitely in a good way.

Personally I disagree in terms of the challenge.  Before, with the 14% drop rate, I felt I could play the game with a level of skill and strategy - do I cover that pit or use it to my advantage, for one.  Now, with powerups being far rarer, it makes it more of a worry rather than a thing to just keep in your head as you go.  Could be an idea for a game mode - difficulty settings (normal and overkill) big_smile

@132 personally for me, now that I know I get less pit covers, I honestly feel like I must strategize more because since I have a limited amount, and invincibility isn't running rampant, I can't just cover pits willy nilly for worry that I'll allow too many cannons to shoot at me. Also, having limited covers makes me question, Hmm. Does that pit really need to be covered? Or should I wait and use that on a more inconvenient pit?

I actually think difficulty levels aren't a bad idea. If you decide to implement them, it would probably make sense to divide the scoreboards based on which level people are playing at.

When I run the latest update, Aug. 14 2018, I get:

Thanks for your feedback guys. For those getting the error, there's a file called error.log in the oh shit folder that it creates when it shows you a fatal error message. Please post the contents here. I have another person in the skype group getting this error, and I have a strong feeling that you're dealing with an error that has to do with the speech output library I use's jaws support.

Themida sounds like Code Factory Eloquence. I experienced this error on one computer but not another. Not sure what I did to fix it, or why only one computer had the problem. Both computers are running JAWS.

Hmm. I bet this error is occuring then because the library is not detecting things as tts voice and thus saying no tts found. Makes the most sense to me. This shouldn't be too hard to fix. I'm working on a new feature and tweaking a bit of code. Luckily this won't require a board clear, but you guys should get version 1.6 tonight or tomorrow. I'll try to be as quick as I can without majorly breaking stuff so that people like Riad and others having this error can get back to grabbing items!

Hey guys, before I say the point of this post, can I ask you something?
Since the scoreboard has already 200 entries on it, do you think I should wait til August 27 to clear it? Or should I clear it Friday? I'll vote based on the majority.

Anyway, what I was gonna say: You probably saw 0.6 roll out. Here's what happened in this version:
0.6:
-Cannons can now spawn anywhere, as opposed to being confined to multiples of 15 on the board. Still, cannons cannot spawn within 10 feet from one another. Their timer has been decreased by 3 seconds, and pit spawning timer has been decreased by 3 seconds.
-Hopefully fixed the runtime errors people were experiencing regarding tts.
-Added stat reports. If you log a game to a file, you will receive a brief report on the game statistics for that game which will be inserted at the top of the generated log file. In addition, when logging, the game does not log every time you pick up a score item anymore; you're notified when your score increases by 10. In the next version I will further increase customization level of logging.
Tell me if you think I should add more to stat reports / what you think of them! Also, as always, report all errors!

Could there be a separate mode added that brings back the higher percentage probability again, perhaps an equivalent to a difficulty with it's own scoreboard to allow for fairness? However, this should not be a cheat, I like it being luck of the draw but I did have a massive laugh when I kept on randomly getting invincibilities, and also times where you get bothsuper speed and invincibility as well. HOwever I will say again, I do not want this to be a cheat, I'd like it the way it was before, but I'd also still like the current, harder option with not as many items sporning as it's a good challenge and as you've said, it allows for strategy.

I have a few suggestions, after playing for a while.

Canonballs should have a random chance of destroying bonus/powerup items they roll over.
There should be stats for number of canonballs deflected, pit jumps, etc, times each type of powerup has been obtained and total time spent per powerup across all games.
Maybe powerups which dynamically make the game easier or harder. E.G. a good luck powerup or similar would, for a precious few seconds, make powerups more likely to appear, canons fire less frequently, pits less likely to spawn, and in general make it easy on the player for a bit. On the other hand, a curse or similar would, again for a few seconds, do everything in its power to make things harder on the player. Canons fire more frequently and/or balls roll faster, more pits spawn, powerups are extremely rare, etc.
Also imho the firing time of canons should be slightly randomized.

And now, an outright error. As soon as a game ends, it crashes if the logs folder doesn't exist if you have logging turned on. It should probably catch this error and make the folder if needed.

I just died twice in the same game, as follows:

Below is the log of what went down:
0 seconds: Game begins
0 seconds: A cannon spawned at 12
8 seconds: The cannon at 12 fires!
9 seconds: A cannon ball smashes harmlessly into the wall!
10 seconds: Talk about a false sense of security! The player just picked up the pit cover at position 19, and now has a grand total of 1 of them! Too bad they don't know that even if they use one now, a new pit's just gonna spawn in a few seconds. Hahahaha!
15 seconds: The cannon at 12 fires!
17 seconds: A cannon ball smashes harmlessly into the wall!
24 seconds: The player's score increases to 10 points!
25 seconds: The cannon at 12 fires!
26 seconds: Speed boost retrieved at 13! Check it out! And now comes the really fun part: placing bets on how long it takes wrecklessness to kill the player! Bet they don't even last 10 seconds. Stop being so mean you say? No.
27 seconds: A cannon ball smashes harmlessly into the wall!
31 seconds: a pit spawned at 25
31 seconds: The cannon at 12 fires!
33 seconds: Well shit. Looks like someone didn't watch their step, and is now at the bottom of a casm. I don't know... but if I'm correct, the goal of the game is to jump over, not in pits. Thanks!
33 seconds: Crash! Nooooo! The player was ran over by a cannon ball! This is... just... tragic! We'll never get that cannon ball back now...
33 seconds: Player has died with a score of 14
