Hi !
Some time ago the indie game studio Crows Crows Crows released a free adventure game called "The Temple Of No".
It's online there on itch.io : https://crowscrowscrows.itch.io/the-temple-of-no
As the game source code has been made open source by the studio,
I made a French translation for it.
At the same time I though I could do some improvments related to the accessibility of the game.
This is the modified version I made : https://chezsoi.org/lucas/the-temple-of-no-a11y/
I tested it with Firefox + the NVDA screen reader, but I'm far from an expert using this program.
What has been done so far:
document language specified
support for image alt descriptions + redacted all images descriptions in French
proper HTML structure using paragraphs
tabindex & focus management
What remains:
images descriptions in English
when moving to another story passage, the page name and global description are read again every time
after a clic on an interactive link, the text inserted is focused but not read by the NVDA
I'm looking for feedbacks on the accessibility of the game:
do you have trouble navigating the story ? What could be improved ?
On the story side, all credits must go to Crows Crows Crows,
I simply hope you'll like it as much as I did !
Regards
PS: Note that I'll be on bike trip for several weeks this summer and may not be very responsive during that time,
but I'll sure read all your comments and feedbacks when I'll be back !
