so upon more research this is apparently based off the A-star-algorithm. I will see what I can find as I think either 1. not all of the presented grids are solvable, 2. Its just pure luck at the end in my part.
edit: Of course all grids are solvable. Its just practice, I am afraid. But you have to foresee where things will be an where you want them to go. Its retaining the information which is the trickier part. But hey, practicing makes me get better and beat the 3x3 faster and faster.
