Okay, beat the first episode, I think I got what would be the "good ending." Yeah, I think I spent more then 5 hours on that. Oh yes, the $10 is well worth it, and playing doesn't seem as hard as KODP. Then again, I only got one ending, and saw possibilities for other paths.

I managed to beat the game aswell. Spoilers ahead, read at your own risk:
spoilers
I have chosen to accept the cenala revelation and that made the game interesting, it seems to be the turning point in the game and a crucial split. I want to try now to finish a game without accepting the revelation, Beren seems to be the only major requirement in finishing the episode, it seems there is no possibility to end the story without him marrying the priestess.

Hi,
I have to agree that this game is not as hard as KODP to get into at all, sliders only seem to appear when they are logically needed, and the increments aren't too bad and are more logical as well. I am liking the game so far for what it is and I'd definitely say it's worth it.

Spoilers ahead:
Yep, I chose to accept the revelation as well. I allowed Barron to marry the priestess, although getting enough cows was slightly hard, but I went out on limbs to do it, and managed to get enough without killing my own clan. I'm starting a new adventure, with a new clan, to see what all can be made different.

Hi.
I played the game for four hours yesterday, ment to go to bed early, but that didn't happened. smile
I'm really impressed. I found KODP very overwhelming and sometimes confusing, but the tutorial in Six Ages and all the great help texts was what got me started.
I'm in the 7th season. Things could have gone better but I'm still alive. There are many things which I haven't tried yet, and a lot of things which I'm not sure on what is or how it works yet.
The only complaint I have about the game is how you are forced to continue in the story, no matter if you feel you have got the basics or not. You can't experiment much with things without continue the story, which sometimes feels quite overwhelming if you are concentrating on something else. On the other side, I like how the game keeps telling you that it's okay if you don't understand it all the first time you play the game, and there is no wrong choice.
I like the game so much. it needs lots of patience to navigate in the game, but I'll recommend it to those who got stuck in KODP, because the tutorial in Six Ages is really great, and it helped me to get started.
Are there any known accessibility bugs in the game? Sometimes the icons won't be marked as "selected" when I click them. Other times, I don't realize I can click on the icon, because it just appears as text and not a "not selected" item.
I don't get how exploring works on the map section. Nothing seems to happen when I move in the different directions. I think I have to play around with this some more to understand how it works...

@slj: to explore you have to hit the explore button first. then tap any unexplored spot and send your party. If they discover something the location will appear in the map next time you send explorers so instead of unexplored spot it will say cave for example. The storyline is not that intrusive and I think you have all the time to figure out the basics before the main events start to unfold.

Thank you. The explore part makes more sense. Accept for I first have a spot to the north, east, south and west. Then I have some unexplored places in the same direction.
I have got a quite annoying issue with my clan. One of the circle members died, so now there are only six people in the circle. I have a ton of people to choose from, but I can't put them in the circle by swiping up from "not on the circle" to "circle member." The mood in the clan is not good and people are complaining. All those people on the list when renewing the clan is quite overwhelming, and it's annoying they show up, when I can't put them in the clan. Any clue on what to do?

if you want to reorganise, first tap the reorganise button. then, select a filter option with the slider. Each person in the list is it's own slider. To appoint them to counsil, simply change the position on the slider to "circle member".

Yep. I got how it should work. But the issue is that I'm not able to set the slider from "not in the circle." I can only move the slider for very few of all those people.

Probably won't get this because I have KODP, but I don't play it enough even though I do like it.

Hi.
After a lot of wandering and experimenting, I finally figured out what my issue is regarding to my clan. It is quite simple, but only if you know what you should not do:
I have 7 circle members for sure, but the game keeps telling me there are not 7 members. It even dropped from 6 to 5, which didn't made people happy. But I messed up was: I chose some of the clan members to go out and explore. I'm not sure on why I even have this option when it makes people complain that much. I'm not sure on how to make sure I don't send the clan members out on missions in the future.

@slj: It shouldn't tell you that the circle isn't complete even if you send some of them on exploration parties. What you get is probably that not all your families are represented on the circle, you must have a member from each family in it. Go to filter by family using the slider and make sure that each family has only one member on the ring.

@mastodont: Thank you so much. That was exactly what was wrong... It was quite tricky to get the clan reorganized, but I finally did it. Thanks a lot...

hi, it's not crucial to have all the families represented. All it does is give you an extra magic point during sacred time, which is helpful but not a requirement. Having seven gods represented helps a lot more, since that makes rituals easier.

Hi.

wow just started playing this and I can tell its going to be awesome, its particularly interesting from a mythology perspective to hear the myths from the other side, EG with the stormfather being regarded as a rebel god, though its going to take some getting used to I think.

I particularly love access wise that so many of the illustrations are described. King of dragon pass was certainly more than enough with the text but its always nice to get a description of what is going on, EG it was lovely  see my emmesary actually visit another clan.
Does anyone know if the soundtrack is available to download anywhere the way the Kodp one was?

With our dreaming and singing, Ceaseless and sorrowless we! The glory about us clinging Of the glorious futures we see,
Our souls with high music ringing; O men! It must ever be
That we dwell in our dreaming and singing, A little apart from ye. (Arthur O'Shaughnessy 1873.)

Hi,
@Ironcross I'd definitely recommend you get this, even if you have kodp. You are playing from a completely different perspective story wise and there's also more lore to uncover.

hi,

this game is really good.

although i think either a new topic should be created or this topics name altered to reflect the game now being out instead of being available for preorder?

2018-07-06 13:16:53

The topic subject could just be renamed.

I’m very impressed by this. As well as the interesting lore aspect, it feels like a much more balanced game overall. Unlike in kodp it feels like my choices actually matter. Kodp felt way too arbitrary at times, like when your 40 weapon thanes and 350 footmen lost against 20  soldiers even though you had all the war blessings and used 5 points of magic.
I don't get that sense from this game though, which makes me happy.

2018-07-09 16:18:41

Hi All,

I must be the only guy that prefers the original game.

Yes the story has changed but to me its just a polished up version of kodp.

The 1 thing that really got on my nerves in kodp was the advice from the ring, so I was hoping that at least would have been improved but it seems the same whereby they look out for themselves for the most part.

If you have never played kodp then I would recommend first you buy six ages,  but if you have the original I honestly would not bother, for me theres just not enough of a difference.

And before everyone starts jumping on my back its just my opinion  from a stand point where I played kodp for hours on end.

2018-07-10 08:12:11

@shrike: You might be right. For me, it was the great introduction in Six Ages which got me started. I have tried to get used to KODP a few times, but never really got used to it. When I have completed Six Ages, then I might give KODP a try again to check out the differences.
