Hi Everyone,
I downloaded Hack, and when I load it I get a window whose title is Hack. This game is supposed to work with NVDA but pressing keys like N and X (to quit) do nothing. NVDA also doesn't say anything when the game first loads; I only found out about these keys from the manual.

I can't close the program, and have to kill it in Task Manager...

Any ideas why I can't run it successfully and why it's not interfacing with NVDA like it should? I'm running Windows Defender as my antivirus program.

Have you put nvda to sleep? Also I would just disable antivirus as standard practice for running bgt games.

I tried it a while back, not on this machine, but I don't remember, seemed OK to me, definitely no problems, read the manual, and it just worked.

OK I just tried this today, got the game from the audio games archive, it starts up silently, but once you hit F to start your first fight, its good from there.

Yeah, that's what had confused me, the manual made no mention of extra runtimes and things like that. I tried what you suggested and it worked.
