Greetings
I've heard that there's a complete Manamon save data with a complete Manapedia around, so I'd like to know if there's any possibility from me -or us- to have the save file. This will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Kind regards!

Why should people who have worked very hard to complete the game give you this? Why not complete it on your own? What's the point of getting a complete gamesave?

Best regards SLJ.

SLJ, if I can I will. The problem here is that -and as you know- completing the Manapedia requires you to trade online. Forwarding ports still doesn't want to work successfully with me, as well as that it's pretty rare to find people to trade with. I won't ask for a complete save file if I can do that myself, it's the only game I've ordered a complete save file for it. Think a bit. And notice that I've said in the first post (if there's any possibility) meaning that I won't force anyone to give me his/her save file, so if the save file's owner sees that giving out his/her save file will break the result of his/her hard work, then this is a right. But if another one -like me- sees that there's no problem in sharing their save file -as well as finding this fun-, so be it.

Kind regards!

I think that if you can grab game saves on a site like game faqs, there is no reason why we can't share saves as well. Sure you could do the game on your own, but sometimes, you just want to be god of the game, and play it the way you want. If i complete mine soon, i'd be happy to share, not sure how long it will take though.

If you have two computers on the same local network, you can trade without opening ports etc.

But will this ban my registration as a multiple usage? That's what I'm afraid of.

No it will not. You can install the game on as many computers as you need. Also, I don't think the game contacts the server in any way to facilitate online gaming, other than to insure each player's version is up to date. Just for the fun of it, I did an online battle with myself on a computer across the room.

I would love to have this file as well. I had one, and I accidentally deleted it during self-trade. Thanks!

As I didn't get all the manamon I had and traiding with people in the net seems a bit complicated to me, waiting and waiting... I just have like 60 or so manamon captured, including my beautyfull pandourbit which I like it's stronger point.

I know there is one out there. We just need to find it.

while I don't really want to share my save file, for those of you who need help with either the manapedia, or just need help with trades, please get in touch with me either wwith the details on my profile, or PM me on the forum, and I can help with that. have all manamon, all on level 100, have plenty of gold as well, so cloning and that shouldn't be an issue for me.

Ah yes, I had forgotten that two computers on the same network could trade freely, but it does make sense.
Going to have to try that. Use one game to set up a room, the other to battle/trade, see how well it works.
I have two laptops, an old beaten-down one and a new one I got in November, and I may be able to have a little fun with this, provided I can find the time. lol

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask that can we do self-trading on the same laptop or computer? I am asking becaue it looks like that the online functionality is not happy with me! lol

I actually have a question/concern of my own, and figured this might be a decent thread to ask it in.

So okay. Your save file is data.dat, correct?
Because if so, I've run into a snag.

Here's my scenario.

On my old laptop, I have a manamon save that's beaten the game and has a bunch of stuff collected.
On my new laptop, I have a save file that's about twenty-two minutes old.
I want to have the completed save file - the one on my old machine - on both copies of the game.
So here's what I did:
1. I copied data.dat from my old laptop onto a portable USB hard drive
2. I moved data.dat on my new laptop out of its folder; I got an "access denied" message, but clicked the button marked "continue with automatic administrator rights", and the file was moved away successfully
3. I slapped data.dat from my USB hard drive - I checked which one it was, don't worry - into the empty space in the Manamon folder on my new laptop, figuring now I'd have the better save on both machines.
...Nope. It still somehow recognizes my 22-minute-old save file, and I have no idea how or why.

Help?

Which path are you pulling data.dat from? There are multiple data.dat files in different locations. The one you want is located at c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\vgstorm\manamon

Take care, it's a desert out there.

Ah, I was just yanking the one straight out of the VG Storm folder. That might explain it.

Thank you. Will try this.

So I'm using Windows 10, and under my username, I do not have a "roaming" subheading, and don't see any other way to get at the filepath you specified. Hmmm.

You want username\appdata\roaming\vgstorm.com\manamon

Take care, it's a desert out there.

And..I don't even have Appdata.

I have only the following, for some weird reason:

3d objects
contacts
desktop
documents
downloads
dropbox
favourites
intel
links
music
one drive
pictures
saved games
searches
tracing
videos

So...I'm definitely at a bit of a loss here.

Try this. Go into your run dialog with windows+r and type the following
%appdata%
Note the % symbols

Take care, it's a desert out there.

2018-03-21 03:58:19

Okay, so a quick update.

I actually found out that %appdata and everything in it is hidden. I've now unhidden it. Yay.
So I found the save file, transferred it over. Double yay!

But that's where all the good stuff stops.

I've tried everything I can think of to get my laptops to talk to each other, and it's no go. No matter which of them I use to host, entering the IP address, as asked, just makes the game sit there doing nothing for three minutes until it prompts me to try again.
To be clear, the IP address that's wanted is the numerical IPV4 version, as I've connected to other people in the past just fine. This is what I've used, and it didn't work.
If there's some special sneaky command because we're both on the same IP already, it would be kind of nice if this were in the manual, because the manual gives the whole online connectivity thing about three or four lines and calls it good.

Really beginning to remember why this game frustrated me so much. So many hoops, so little kickback.

I wish someone could make a 158 hack that allows for alternate evolutions for trade mons. It's the only thing that makes me not want to do a complete manapedia run. It's stupid.

Take care, it's a desert out there.

2018-03-21 04:16:32 (edited by Jayde 2018-03-21 04:19:20)

I wish someone would mod the game, full stop. Different stats, different movesets, different move power/accuracy, the whole nine yards. Hell, I'd do it myself if I knew how and didn't think I'd get in enormous trouble, as I suspect that's kinda really illegal.
Incidentally, you'd also have to provide some way to get the other starters, because Aaron doesn't allow that within a single playthrough either. Was definitely hoping for that option in post-game content, but post-game content was pretty much an afterthought.

Would still love to trade with myself here. Did a little digging, and apparently you're supposed to be able to set up a room with one laptop, and have the other use localhost as the IP, and that should work. Do I still need to forward ports 15000 and 15001? I wouldn't think so, given it's all happening in the same network, but who freaking knows at this point.

Can I do self-trading with one laptop only? Cause I am also having problems in using that online functionality plus I don't have another laptop.
