Accessibility Forums went live today, and with them came official bug reporting.  The biggest problem of passing around email is making sure the right people see it - sometimes people switch teams and communication is lost. The new bug reporting forum stores everything in databases by product, making it much easier for teams to access.

When reporting, please report one major issue at a time and submit for each title separately, so it goes in the right database. Using the text field "I want to talk about something you don't mention above" to say "all of them" would mean no product actually logs the feedback.

is this for any EA game or for specific titles and genre's?

It's for any EA game, app, or website. - Karen Stevens

that's cool. so any chance any of their star wars games could be made accessible?

There may be a chance if you file bugs on exactly what you are asking for :-) Ditto on any other title. Don't worry if something is possible or not, although if you do have suggested solutions there is a place for that in the bug report.

Basically, if you wish for something, please file. If you want something for multiple games, please file on each. If you want totally different things for one title, try to break it down into separate filed requests on each - i.e football passing issues in madden are different than a request for better menu navigation. If you've emailed or tweeted me requests in the past, it doesn't hurt to file anyway, so there's a permanent record that follows the team around. I'm sure some feedback has been lost over time, as people move between teams - the forum prevents that from happening.

I've been working on getting this forum up for ages - email & twitter were never intended to be long-term feedback mechanisms, it just took way longer than expected to get a more permanent solution up and running.

well I've never purchased any of said games because I've assumed from the outset that they are not accessible for blind people to play. so even if I had a copy of the game or any of those types of games I don't know how I would even start to file bug reports not being able to access any of the game at all.

I have no features changes to report on this time. I'm encouraging use of the forum so issues are permanently visible to teams. Posting increases the odds of something being addressed.

Thanks,

Hi everyone, I want to stress how important it is to file accessibility feedback for any blocking issues. If you feel you can't because "feature X doesn't exist, so I can't play at all" then that's something that should be logged. If you can partially play the games, then any detailed issue (madden's passing issue comes to mind) is very valuable. Anything you may have messaged me in the past that hasn't been addressed is a candidate for submissions. Issues won't appear to be as credible if I was to back fill the database with emailed and tweeted feedback. It really needs to come from other people who legitimately are having accessibility issues.

Basically, I had the forums created with all of you in mind. I need the forum to be used in order to prove interest across teams in a way that doesn't get lost when people switch teams. The more posts, and the more "me too" clicks on posts, the better the odds of things being addressed. Please help me get your wanted features through.

The New Topic button will create a new issue. If your issue is already on the list, then clicking the "me too" button on the existing posts would be best.  If you can't tell what's already on the list, that's fine, I can combine feedback posts later.

Thanks,

Just bought NBA live 18. Don't expect it to be accessible, but I'm hoping I can actually give decent feedback on what needs to be improved if I can play the game. It also helps it was only 30 dollars.

@death feedback is what's needed!

These kind of things need momentum to build. The more people post issues the more other people will feel comfortable posting their issues too, and the more people using the forum the more people there are to comment on each other's issues and reinforce how important they are.

Hi.
I have just posted my first wish for accessibility improvement on the forum. @Karen: I don't hope you feel offended, when you have put that much work into the text guide. I hope this is the kind of feedback you need. I'll gladly edit my post if you need more information.

Not sure why but I posted a quick report and it still showed my product as battlefront for some reason.

Everyone don't forget that if there is a post like SLJ's that might be useful to you as well, you can reply to it to say it would be useful for you. Wouldn't hurt for developers to know that it isn't just one person requesting it.

My post disappeared from the forum, so idk if I put it in the wrong spot, or... THis is not a good start for my suggestions. tongue

@death - what was your post about? Did you ever see it on the list? Sometimes they get moved if they seem to fit a different forum better.

2018-03-12 19:25:40

It was mainly about adding rumble support to NBA live 18 for where you were on the court 2pt line, paint, etc as well assomething else I can't even remember.
